Dre
more like a aerobatic/show plane than a warbird.

Yeah, pretty striking color scheme. Even my wife said "what the Heck?"

Here we go I'm ready to start now guys, I have the Mig and Decals, and also I have the GWH Mig as well, in the very slim chance I get the big Mig finished within time, I will also make the 29 if there's time on here.

The Romanian choices are quite nice too, and I believe the internet has these schemes well covered.

This will be getting made also depending upon time left.

Here's what you get in the box.

The box art is included which is a good idea as there's some great paintings on these boxes, the detail on this kit is razor sharp, probably the best I have seen.

I can assume this means its very well researched?

You can just about see in the image the quality of the detail.

The HUD is clear film, could be tricky.

There's a good bit of photo etch too.

Update,
Got the white, red and light blue on. Next, I need to install landing gear, prop, flaps Etc., spray the future, install the decals, then weather. There's still a bit to go.

As a guess, I'd say that Hannants would be the best source for any 1/32 Soviet ground crew and accessories.   If you're feeling funky, Takom has some 1/35 Soviet infantry in full NBC suits, including the odd facemask and breather- they might make for an interesting addition to the working ground crew.

If you plan on doing any hex plates to park the MiG on, let me know as I have a ton of material concerning the measurements and usage of such items...

Have fun and we're looking forward to seeing some new models in here.

You're right it is Dre, okay I am busy today but later on I will try and get some picture posted, I have not started anything but I will start tonight all being well. It's going to be mostly OOB, I don't see any Resin parts for the kit besides a seat so I'm guessing the kit doesn't need it, I want to use all of the figures in the box, and the resin bits and bobs you get with it too, I will have the Mig 21 having its gun loaded and I will see during the build if there's any accessories for Soviet aircraft on the ground in 32nd scale, I'm guessing there's not but I'll have a look.

Damn quick customer service if you ask me...   Go for artistic licence!

LH literally got back to me within the hour, they said the sheet was produced 15 years ago and that was all of the available info at the time so that's what you get! No big deal though as the internet should provide something, failing that I'll use artistic licence.

Hmm well I emailed LH so I'll see what they say, there are some really good Mig 21s in the decal set, though they're the SM, Bis and something else but not MF, so I will look for the differences and see what I can do! Also I ordered the GWH Mig 29 9-12 Early version so that may end up here first. Either way I should be starting soon.

That is odd for LH decals...   all the sets I've gotten from them include several pages of photos and drawings of the various schemes.

All I can suggest is lots of internet searching for photos of those schemes, sorry.

My Decals from Linden Hill arrived today, Millennium Migs and for some reason all of the schemes are shown from the left side only and the left wing, no tail wings, no right side view, no top view and obviously no right wing, has anybody else ever had this with Linden Hill?

Are going with green over blue, or white-washed?

Here is my update, I thought I should show some progress.
After I sand the stabilizer seams and install the spinner backing, it will be time to paint the underside light blue believe it or not.
Beside the wing joint (which was probably my fault), this has been a very nice build. I would recommend this kit fro anyone wanting to build a MiG 3

Dean, I will PM you about AM decals for them now.

As for the Somali AF, I simply maskes off a circle, painted white, stuck a star over that and sprayed the blue, removed the star mask and done.

As for the GB here, yes I signed up for a 1/32 Trumpeter MiG 19.

I just ordered Linden Hill Millennium Migs part one Single seaters, there's a good few colourful markings, Russian, Romanian, Chinese, and somewhere else. The colours are pretty good and it has the really good Russian green, brown and sand scheme, so I will see, I actually don't have time to begin but I'm itching to start lol. Theuns are you building anything for this GB? Also I didn't ignore the African Air Forces suggestion, I just couldn't see anyone who made them besides Afterburner Decals, and when I went onto their web page I could not seem to find them so I went for Linden Hill which I have used before.

Just for interest sake, if anyone wanted to look at African Migs a google image search gave this - www.google.co.za/search

Most of these planes are really beat up. a big majority of them are grounded and used for spares to keep a few flying.

Also interesting is that they don't always have the same paint scheeme on them, sometimes they are just used as delivered from the eastern block. You might have a camo Mig next to a grey mig.

Here is my Somali AF 21 mf

Dean, actually I was thinking of the Czech standard NMF or the slightly more interesting light grey over white schemes, but that 3-color splinter camo would look great too.   Those two standard schemes would allow one to really muck about in tonal variations and weathering.

All too true about the African schemes- they're great but under-represented in our community.   There were quite a few Mediterranean/Mid East operators of MiG-21s as well that have neat looking camo.

Good call Theuns, Dre I had looked at Czech and I wonder if you meant the impossible white, grey and black one lol? Would be an incredible but I doubt I could do that within the year, however there are some good looking Angolan and Mozambican Migs, some nice colours, I can't believe I had overlooked an entire continent! How is everyone else's builds coming along?

Dean, look at google for  some of the African Airforce Mig 21's there are MANY and AM decals are available. I just did a 1/48 MiG 21 MF in Somali AF colors, different yet interesting.

Hi everyone, well I am still undecided on which air force to make my mig as the in box options (iraq and luftwaffe) don't appeal, has anyone got any suggestions? I am going to be starting as soon as I can I know I have said this before, but life is getting in the way a lot lately, also I have had this kit for about five years and want to do it justice as it's a real favourite of mine and I was almost hesitant to make it in case I made a mess lol. Also here's a video of the Mig 21.

Bah, sorry about the snafu, but sounds like you'll power through it. And, hey, at least you're building something!

My 1/48, at least, is a mess. The wing root flange on the fuselage halves were about 2 mm too wide on each side. I had to "adjust" the upper wing halves so the fuse would fit into its slot. At first I had thought the office didn't fit into the receiving holes correctly thus making the fuse halves too wide, but it all looked OK.

Oh well, some filling and sanding and I'll be back on track. I am still really pleased with this kit despite the set back, which still may have been my fault.
