Great work on the transition everyone!  Tim is the man!

SS here is what I'm doing for the GB.  It's a 1/48 Otaki Bf109G.  Thanks for co-hosting!  Both you and mustang rock!

Hey Rigidrider,

Thanks for the info on the Otaki kit!

"Eagle... Otaki kits are quite nice and fairly well detailed although sparse in the pit area... Nothing a good pe set wouldnt help. They were basic kits, made from sometime in the mid 80s into the early 90s. They are related to the Arii kits and realy only failed due to poor distribution. The man who started the company (in Japan) was determined to produce the best kit possible for the modest cost, and after several start up "Bumps" he did just that. Again, a poor distribution network caused the downfall of the company, not the product.

Doug"

Didn't know anything about it, so the info is much appreciated.  I took a better look at the kit and you are correct.  The cockpit is not very detailed, but the rest is nicely done!  Should be a good build.  Thanks again!

By the by... I'm looking to make a break from PhotoBlunder, and it looks like Flickr offers (they claim) enough free storage to hold approx 500,000 photos, again, at no cost. Any Flickr users here? Ins, outs, ups, downs, drawbacks, honest opinions???

Yes, I've a flickr account for over a year now.  Works fine for me, and all that storage space free, really can't complain.  Using Firefox web browser makes it a breeze to link photos to the forums here.
regards,
Jack

Hey all... Just saw a 109G Royal Class on E Bay any one interested....

Oh Clemens. Here Clemens, Clemens, Clemens! lol

Where? Where?! Stick out tongue

On a more serious note, I think I got all the 109s I need. So why do I even have two Royal Class kits? Well, the answer is simple: The Royal Class is cheaper than buying two Profipacks and the fabric seatbelts (I hate PE belts) and comes with way more goodies. They also don't limit me to only building G-6s...

That 109 stash really is impressive though! I'm not trying to enter a stash contest with my 109s (that's what my 190s are for Wink). I simply got me those kits I'm most interested in and I have a plan for each one of them...

I can't really compete with that, but I do have that Austrian accent if that's of any helpWink

Oh and just for some mindless, silly fun, Christoph Waltz talking about the difference between Austrians and Germans:

This video is, of course, not to be taken completely seriously and more of a joke than anything else...

Doug, I guess it depends on what is meant by direct link (for me it's not a quick one click and done).   There might be a quicker way, but I'll lay out the steps (using the 109 Gb logo as an example), and let you decide if it looks simple enough.

-----------------------------------------------

After you upload your image, click it so it is isolated on the screen, as so:

1. - on the bottom right, there is four icons, click the right most one (arrow pointing down)

2. - a popup with options appears for viewing sizes, click the last one 'View all sizes".

------------------------------------

This brings up a new screen where you can choose your image size.  The original size is set as default.

3. -put cursor over image and right click, a box of options pops up, click "View image info"

-----------------------------------------

A smaller window opens to provide the link text:

4. - the link text is already highlighted, simply place cursor over this and right click to copy.  Now you are ready to paste to the forums here or where ever.

regards,

Jack

OK Joe, I'm in. Not sure what I will build. I do have a few to choose from. Too bad it doesn't start today as I just started a Trumpy G-10. I have a Hasegawa F-4 on the way from Hong Kong so it will probably be that, plus I haven't built an F in 1/32.

Hey, the 109 master is here! Nice to have you join us!

Do you want me to put you down with that F-4 or as TBA?

Let's go with the F-4, assuming it shows up from Hong Kong. Thanks for the warm welcome! Glad to be part of the group. I couldn't say no to Joe after he tracked me down over on LSP.

Do you have any plans regarding the color scheme? There are some pretty nice ones included in the box IMO

I might throw in another one painted as option H if I have enough time on my hands...

I agree Bish... Impressive line up thus far... More to come I'm sure!

Finally got my colors down, 70-71-02-65. Some of the record keeping is so blasted confusing, but after studying the IPMS Luftwaffe RLM listings for the time period and the Nowi/Luftcam index, they both agree on the period camo colors. So, thats out of the way...Now just choosing the markings...

Hey Joe, have you thought about what scheme you are going to do? I have a boatload of 1/48 decals that I will probably never use. Let me know if there is something you are looking for.

Hey Jay. I certainly appreciate the offer for the decalsYes but I do have something in mind. I'll be going with "Yellow 2" flown by Franz Stigler. I'm sure you've probably read the book , "A Higher Call" by now. It's a great story and takes a while to go over but You Tube has a small video that sums everything up if you type in A Higher Call in the search criteria. Anyways I have a decal sheet from Kits World that also has decals for the B-17 "Ye Olde Pub".

If you guys don't have it , this pic depicting Stiglers encounter with "Ye Olde Pub"  below makes for some awesome wall paper:

Nice choice, Joe. I am looking forward to it. If anyone else is looking for decals, please let me know. I would be happy to donate them to a good cause.
