Been waiting all this time for the official signup, then I miss the grand opening by 3 days! span="" id="mce_marker" data-mce-type="bookmark">  <------- Insert malfunctioning party emoticon here

I'd like to join in with my first ever Zvezda, a 1/48th BF-109 F2. No idea on scheme and stuff yet, but I do seem to have a very cool-looking set of EagleCals. Wink

Sorry brother, the only G-2 decals I have are for "Double Black Chevron" flown by Hauptmann Steinhoff of II./JG52. Interesting scheme IMHO. Doesn't seem to be a lot out there for the G-2.

Nice choice, Joe. I am looking forward to it. If anyone else is looking for decals, please let me know. I would be happy to donate them to a good cause.

Jay

Thanks for that generous offer, Jay!
If you happen to have decals for Marseille's or Wilcke's G-2 I'd be really interested in those, but only ifyou really don't plan on using them...

I would be interested in joining this.  I would have the Academy Bf 109D.  I will use aftermarket resin.  It will be a later in the year as I am just getting back into building.  That and I am in the Reich Defender Night Fighter GB.

Thanks

mustang1989

Oooooh I'd like one like you had Bish with mustang1989 on the flip side! Nice.

Do they offer a 12oz mug?

They had different mugs, this is a 10oz,  but only in this size with the coloured handles and rim. And they didn't have black like that Zazzle mug, which I would have liked. I got mine from here.

http://www.yourdesign.co.uk/design-your-own-mug

But of course its in the UK.

Clemens,

Right, now I see what you mean by a simplified design for the mugs.  For sure, those Royal boxtop artwork created by Eduard are quite eye catching.

I like the idea of the personalized mug that includes the participant's name, and the other side contains the pilot's name of the the aircraft they have built.  I'm neutral, though, to the group's decision on a mug design, as I wasn't planning on having one made - besides which I already have an Eduard tin mug Big Smile

Jack

No worries.

I know what you mean about not having a whole lot of G-2 decals to choose from. There's plenty of stuff for later Gustavs and Friedrichs, but I didn't have any luck with G-2 ones so far...

Does anyone of you guys have any pictures or color profiles of Wolf-Dietrich Wilcke's G-2? I looked everywhere and there doesn't seem to be a decal sheet for that aircraft, so I'll have a look if I can get me some vinyl masks cut for it.

I find the IL2 game skins site has all kinds info, specially if it's an aircraft belonging to an ace.

Try this link for Wilcke:

Haven't looked for decals yet, will let you know.

Couldn't find a specific sheet for Wilcke, but the markings look pretty much textbook.  You could find some generic sheets and cobble them together for what you need, probably even in mask form, except for maybe the JG3 "Udet" emblem.

Possibly Alliance Model Works?

I suppose the unit emblems were the same size on most aircraft? I highly doubt it's possible to cut something that small as a mask in 1/48 but I do have a few Udet emblems left from one of my 190 kits...

Hi mustang 1989, Hi Schatten Spartan,

My eyesight is slowly recovering after the accident and I would like to give this one a try :)

Could you please enter me with Eduard's Royal Class 1/48.

I think this might be of interst to you, The box contains a dashboard in 1/4 and 2 BF109's.

I will do my best to make it justice.

In parallel I will be doing Eduard's brilliant 1/47 BF109.

Very Best Regards

Johan

That's good new Johan and I am sure everyone will join me in wishing you a speedy full recovery.

I managed to get one of those IP's as they were sold separately and it looks really nice. In fact it was a toss up between that and the engine for this GB. I just wish I could get one of those damn mugs.

It's nice to have you aboard, Johan! Let me join all the other guys in wishing you a speedy recovery! Just to make sure: You are building the IP supplied with the Royal Class and one of the Emils from that box?

moose: I got you added to the build roster. What scale is that Academy kit?

Thanks for adding me.  My Academy kit is 1/48.  Thinking of doing one of the all black schemes.  It just looks cool.

Not sure if any of you have seen this but, it is really fascinating. Anyone choosing to build one of these Spanish versions. Enjoy:
