I might be in for my HobbyCraft Bf109C-1 as well depending on where I am with my G-6.

Totally awesome footage of an Emil. Really make my heart pound. Plus great music score from Tron Legacy.

Well I am on the list so I guess I am still ok, right?

With the rate I am going though not sure I will ever finish.  After all, two months and I am still working on a wing.

A current picture to show where I am.  And yes I finally glued some pieces together.

Still a lot to do to this before I can call the wing complete.

There I am, I figure by Jan I should be close to having the flaps, rudder, and tail feathers framed out.  I should fall into the acceptable progress part of this build.

Man the level of detail you bring to the table is just amazing Joe. I built one of these things a couple of years ago and couldn't imagine putting this amount of effort into it. Lookin' good buddy.

The hardest part about doing any of this is just coming up with a plan.  I have lucked out that I have developed one, it is simple, and I can repeat it when I need to.  Anyone can do the same.

I'm planning on this one, with various AM. From there, TBD, but I definitely want to do more than one 109 next year!

I have a feeling this one will be another 5000 post, 200,000K view GB, like the FW one was (that I regrettably missed! argh.) That being said, though the badges are nice, should we expand on that? Obviously, that is up to Stang and SS and it's just a suggestion, but what about something like coffee mugs with the badge on it? Too much trouble? The logistics may be tough, but it would be a nice addition!

Agreed!  And as others have stated, there will be more then 1... and yes, badges are killer! Great effort on both.

I've actually done that and gave a coffee mug to pzl66 , the last 109 GB host. I don't know how we go about doing something like that unless I talk to Vista Print and see if they can mass produce mugs and give everybody the link to purchase. Just a quick thought. Gimme more time and I may be able to come up with a better plan.

Badges look fantastic!   Herman is leaning toward the 1/32 Dragon E-7 offering but will let you know for sure once the little guy makes up his mind  Hmm

Joe: Now that's some awe-inspiring scratchbuilding you got going there!

Tom: I suppose that kit is in 1/32?

Handi: That E-7 sounds like a nice addition to the GB. I heard a lot of good things about the Dragon Emils.

Having an official GB mug would be awesome! I could try to come up with a design to put on there (in case we don't use the badges for that).

Nice choice, Joe. I am looking forward to it. If anyone else is looking for decals, please let me know. I would be happy to donate them to a good cause.

Jay

Thanks for that generous offer, Jay!
If you happen to have decals for Marseille's or Wilcke's G-2 I'd be really interested in those, but only ifyou really don't plan on using them...

It is! It's a limited edition kit that came out about 8? years ago.

How about this, SS? Just an idea. I think this is your badge? I didn't think you'd mind a little cut and paste, with some tinkering on vista print! Though I think a beige cup may look better?

After getting the mugs for the last 2 FSM GB's, I have been thinking about getting a couple with my favourite builds on, though I think my other half might say I have enough already. But that one looks really nice.

I normally get mine from a company in the UK and I can get them with coloured handles and rims. I know one of the guys in one of those GB's said they could not get them like that over there. What usually happens in those GB's is that Tim comes up with the mug design and PM's it to those who want it and then they can order the mugs from who ever they wish.

This is the last one I got.

On the back is a list of those who entered, but that could be awkward with people joining during the GB.

I found another site, called zazzle.com that gives some more options. I suppose with an agreed upon badge, we all could make our own?

Naturally, I don't want to be court martialed for insubordination, so I once again defer to the Commanding Officers here, Mustang and SS.. I don't want to turn this into a coffee mug GB!

However, one may adjust their beverage of choice to meet, perhaps something like these...

Stein!!

That mug looks quite good, Tom! It ain't my badge you used though. Jack made that one (and the other is Bish's work). Wink

I was actually thinking of something a bit more "clean" and less colourful to put on the mugs. Beige sounds great (and maybe an alternative version in black).

I'd prefer the stein, how much more German can you get?

Cool stuff with the mugs.

There was mention of simpler designs, so tried a few things.   As was pointed out, don't want to turn this into a mug design GB, so only included linked images for those interested.

I'd be more than happy to incorporate further ideas and thoughts.  Another idea, combining some elements from both badges?

Jack

I was at Boeing's "Museum of Flight" in Seattle last year and forgot I had these pics. If I had been a member of this forum and was building at the time, I would have taken several more. I also have some of several other aircraft WW2 and WW1

Enjoy.

Oops, a few others slipped in.

Those designs look very nice, Jack!

I came up with something as well:

It's nothing fancy, but I don't think very complex designs look that good on mugs. This one is intended to go on a black background (wraps around the entire mug). I thought the Eduard Royal Class boxarts are just perfect for something like this, so I used those. I can edit it to be only on one side or for a white mug as well.

The name below the Emil is going to be different for every participant of course and I'd PM everyone who enters this GB his individual design with the correct name on it.

What do you guys think?

Oooooh I'd like one like you had Bish with mustang1989 on the flip side! Nice.

Do they offer a 12oz mug?
