Since everyone seems to be throwing in glamour shots of the kit selection, here is mine.

This will be my first attempt at mottling.

And if all goes well and I feel up to it, I might just try this sucker

I  will be building that very same E-7 and IMO, it doesn't need any aftermarket help. The kit is just yummy with all the fine details it has! The decals are just too cool. I will be doing mine as an OOB build.

Ohhhh I got my goodie box from Spruebrothers.  The photo etch kit from Eduard looks great. What is cool that in the photo is completely new cockpit sides.

Now I just have to get the decals and count down the days till this GB launches.

My Hasegawa F arrived from Hong Kong today so I am good to go. A few other items should come from Sprue tomorrow.  Working on a Trumpy G-10 at the moment, but that should be done by the end of the year. Nice kit BTW if someone is still looking for a kit for this GB.

By the way guys, I don't know if any of you have noticed already, but we ain't got a single 1/72 kit in the build list. I just had a quick look at the list of participants while making those mug designs and everything is 1/48, 1/32 or even bigger.
Hell, even Bish is only building large scale stuff this time 'round! Surprise

Wow, lots of stunning 109s you got there, guys!

I ain't got a single built one... I know, I know, I should be ashamed... If that's of any help, I already punished myself for that: I found Hasegawa's big F-4 trop on evilbay for 25 bucks and thought it might be a suitible punishment for me and my wallet...

All the great looking builds you posted really got me psyched. I can't wait for this one to kick off!

O the shame. I guess I will need to pull my finger out and try to fit in a proper scale 109 later on.

In the mean time, here is my one and only completed 109. In 72nd of course.

So far not much for references.  I was thinking of doing an all black night fighter scheme.  But after Bish's question of the Condor Legion.  I might be switching to that.

I have a question what is the color of the Condor Legion.  I found a set of decals that show the color is RLM 62.  Is this correct?  The photo's that I see show a light color.

Any suggestions on references?

This will be first for building the Bf 109.  Unless you count something I built 30+ years ago.

moose, the reference's I have say RLM 62. Though the B&W pics they do always seem lighter, I used to think it was RLM 02. I can only assume that's a trick of the light, but it seems to be the same for every 109 pic.

Afternoon brothers... here are a couple of my past builds...

The first is "Black Chevron" the personal mount of Major Ludwig "Zirkus" Franzisket Gp Adjutant Jg27 Libya, 1941. This was built as a Bf109E-4

This one is one of the "Fs" flown by the 3rd highest scoring ace of the Luftwaffe and the pilot of that era I admire the most...  Hauptmann Gunther Rall, of Jg52 serving on the Eastern Front near Kiev in 1942. Rall later became the commander of Nato air forces in Europe and retired a General.

Sorry about the duplicate... Please , lets see some more 109s!!!

Take care all,

Doug
