Weathering of the fuselage and engines almost done, also painted the racing stripes on the side of the nose:

Think it has the suitably "burnt toast" look of a well-worn Y.

For those in the States, hope you have a good holiday weekend. Hoping for some bench time in between chasing the kids around.

Thanks, Bish! Going to try to get a wash on the fuselage tonight.

Hope everyone is doing well. FYI, Bandai announced a few more SW kits today:

Thanks! That detail is unpainted. The product photos show it painted up nicely, but I'm keeping caps on so it would be a wasted effort.

That is looking great Porkbits. I like the detail under the engine caps.

Now it would be nice to get one of those. But I fear if I did, I would really feel the force of the Dark Side.

Yes, yes, the force is strong with hasbro. $170 will surely benefit the Empirial coffers. Hahahshahaha.

Bish, it's the hasbro tie. It goes with the 6" black series. Supposed to be 25" tall and I think it comes with the pilot figure. Check out target.com they may have it listed.

hog, no worries, thanks for dropping in and look forward to seeing those pics. Moving house is not very conducive to model building. Had not heard of that Nuc. just had a look and seems they are not doing that here. And our nearest Disney Store is an hour away.

Is that the Die Caste Darth vadar TIE, just saw that on their site.

Hog fans - looking forward to it.

Anybody looking forward to force friday? I am wondering if I get one or two of those 25" tie fighters and keep one in box for thirty years if it will be worth anything. Lol

Gentleman, some very nice working happening in this GB. I apologize for being AWOL, however, I just moved into a new home and my work area is not in the same condition as the last house. I will dig out the Star Destroyer and get some work done to it in the next week.

Lol. And I'm also that freedom fighter in the movie who's first off the troop transport and gets blasted to bits two seconds into battle. Ah well.

Once I finish my 109 I will be starting on the trooper, so it looks like we could have a good run to the finish.

Hopefully I'll be starting my AT-AT soon.  I just need to finish my He-219.  Now that I'm back from vacation I'll hopefully get cracking on it again.

There is still plenty of time to start and finish a model and there are plenty of people that have not posted anything. You may not be the only one posting Porkbits. I still have to finish Chewie and I am still planning to get 3Po going. I actually do have a little work started already.

Intrigue! I like it.

And thanks, NMT. I primed the fuselage last night and started work on the engines.

Heck, if at the tail end of this GB I'm the only person posting a build, I don't mind. Still fun.

Question is, who are the good guys and who's the baddies?

Thanks for the encouragement. Let me think on how this can work. Ep VII is due in May 2017 so I was thinking an August 2016 start for the next GB. But how about rather than 2 GB's, I do one but with two rosters and two badges.

Question is, who are the good guys and who's the baddies Wink

Look forward to seeing those pics.

Hey, as far as a sci-fi GB goes, this has been a smashing success. We are a small segment on this forum, but you managed to get some hard core armor and plane guys on here. Besides you know I am always down for a star wars GB. As for incorporating the other factions, I don't know how that would work. Maybe a scum and villainy GB?

As for my build, I am working on the bow caster. Hopefully I will finish this soon. Will try and get pics up at the end of the weekend.

You mean Rouge One. ye, I would like to do something like that, as Eagle and me did with the armour in the West GB. It would depend on the amount of interest. This GB has been very quiet. Plus, where would all the other factions fit in.

Porkbits, the Y-wing  is coming along nicely. Glad to hear Bandai did a good job, looking forward to the finish.

Bish, you know there is another Star Wars movie coming out next year (Dec.2016). You could probably have one  GB  for the Empire and one for the rebels.

Oh, phew. I thought you were going to write that it ends next week. :-) I'll definitely have the Y finished by December, and maybe have the X-Wing started.

Thanks....

This GB ends on the day Ep VII is released, Dec 18th. Ep VIII is due for release in May 2017, so I plan on starting the next GB in August next year.

But don't worry to much if your build isn't finished by the time the GB ends.
