Well, my two Bandai Y-Wings should arrive from HLJ by mid-next week! Hope life allows me to get started on at least one of them.

Final progress pics for the weekend. I got the basic colors done.

That'll be it for airbrushing, the rest will have to be hand painted.

Oh, hi Bob.. Yea, once the primer went on the seams went away really nice. It helps once you get everything one color to see how the seam work turns out.

Looks really good Stephen!  I really like the way you handled the seams on him, you can't see them under the primer.

Ah! Thanks, Bruce! You know, I'm an idiot; I've probably seen that option five or six times and it never registered in my brain as THIS IS WHAT YOU CLICK TO RECEIVE EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS.

Porkbits,

See the picture below, the subscribe/unsubscribe is in the Thread Options section in the right hand column.

But, when I opened FSM forum with IE 11, it was not there (Yes, compatibility mode was turn on). But, it is visible with Chrome.

Hope this helps!

Hm, thanks. I swear there used to be a way to subscribe to a thread and get email notifications. Oh well, maybe it's a glitch.

Hi PB - having posted in this thread, it will now appear in the list that comes up when you click 'Your discussions' in the profile box on the right. That's how I look for updates. *shrug*

Hey, guys:

How the heck do I subscribe to this thread? I can subscribe to the GB forum, but then I get email notifications for every GB. I can't find a "Subscribe" or "Follow Thread" link anywhere in this thread, and the Email Notifications settings don't have anything for individual threads.

Hm.

TIA,

PB

Hi guys, been awhile. LIfe gets in the way sometimes. Have not done anything with Chewie for 5 or six weeks. Got some time off from work next week so I hope to get some more work done.

Just to catch up on Revell. They will be selling the Finemolds kits, but from what I understand is they did not buy the molds. Finemolds will still produce them and Revell will repackage them and don't expect them to be cheap either, I have heard (not confirmed) the MF will sell north of $200. Cheaper than what you can get on ebay but more than what was originally charged for the fm kit. Alot of banter about this on starshipmodeler's forums. Info came from a guy who talked to a Revell rep at Wonderfest.

Now about the Falcons on this site, simply put, amazing work. Senor, you are doing that FM kit justice. I look forward to your updates. And that DiAgostino kit is fantastic in its detail. I was hoping to see one built on here as that is probably as close to one as I will get.

Modelcrazy, what a priveledge to be able to visit Lucasfilm and thanks for sharing the photos. Who knew Darth Vader had a little pimp action going? Purple lining on the cape, maybe Prince had something to do with the costume design. LOL, just kidding. Those can be excellent reference photos.

Hopefully will be able to post udates next time

That is totally awesome Joe! I love the worn detail on the couch.

I really hope I don't step on your build progress here, but I went by Lucasfilms HQ today at the San Francisco Presidio. You can't get past the front lobby without an invitation, however the front lobby had some interesting stuff from the movies.

Vader's actual suit from the movies.

The actual Boba Fett suit.

Darth Maul's Light Saber.

Darth Vader's Light Saber

Darth Sidious' Light Saber.

Yoda's Light Saber.

Hans Solo's Blaster,

Ain't that totally COOL!

I dont mind!  Im in another GB (automotive), but I guess is not a problem?

Added the tubing greeblies that came with the kit but added a few details and an additional tube made of solder wire.  Will add more and detail and weather accordingly. Also detailed the console and will dry brush it later.

Now that sounds neat.

By the way joe, did you want me to add this to the roster. I wasn't sure if you were including this as a GB entry.

Yes the upper panel can be removed.  It will also include a motorized ramp.

It does look nice in there. I take it the panels can be removed to show that off.

Did a few more details in the interior bay. Still will paint most of these items to really bring details from it.

You could technically not paint anything but it will lack realism.  I plan to do a full paint job to it and used the MPC Falcon as practice to apply to this bigger model.  The cockpit needed paint specially to those seats, dry brushing and washes, etc. Its just like any model I guess.

Thanks Bruce. Starship modeller has a couple of resin pieces, but this one brings all those together and has a few other bits. I will keep that set in mind, thanks again.

Joe, that looks really nice. Do you have to paint any of that kit.

Bish

Bruce, what resin bits have you got for that. Likewise what I said to Joe, if you feel the need, you can carry it on into the III Star wars GB I will run in the lead up to Ep VIII.

Bish,

I purchased the Devastator resin kit from Avery Model Products: Here is the link

Not a bad kit, but a lot of cleaning of the parts.

Once I get moved, we'll see how long it takes to get back to building models. The house we are moving to does not have a finished basement, but, now I can finish it the way I want. Unfortunately, that will take time away from builds.

Im still building it, currently waiting for some parts! Its going to take 2 years! LOL! But its a studio replica prop with a very good quality.  The cabin is basically done and kit included LED lighting.

This is where Im at:

Are you still building that Joe. Please feel free to post some pics. In fact, if you think its going to take a while, you could enter it and spread it over a couple of GB's.

Senor,

The Falcon looks fantastic! Looking forward to seeing it finished.

I did start on my Star Destroyer. Right now just cleaning all the resin pieces I purchased. I will post pictures, but, I will be delayed a couple months. We purchased a house, and now I have all the fun of packing and moving.
