Star Wars GB Episode II CLOSED

Worth a 1000 words. How do fix that? Assuming you want his feet in a fixed position.

Its the interchangable and positionable part of there figures that is putting me off.

Bob, have you got any styrene rod, or maybe used stretched sprue for those rivets.

Joe, that looks nice. One of the guys in my model club brought an un-built one of these to a meet and it looked really nice. But when I looked at some pics, the feet really put me off.

Its the Bandai 1/12 Scout Trooper.  So far only the head and part of the waist is built.  My guess is that it will need very minimal paint but weathering to make it more realistic.  Very nice kit.

Thanks guys.I was thinking I could use a little piece of styrene, but what stumped me was to replicate the raised rivet detail...maybe some super glue applied with the head of a pin?

Great start! Can't wait to see some paint on her. 

As for the flap...hmm....I guess it depends on how much it bugs you. I don't have much experience scratchbuilding stuff, so I would probably leave it. 

I've lost track of how many times I've watched it.

I've made some small progress on the AT-AT.  There are a lot of gaps to fill and seams to sand, so it's slowed me down a lot.  Here's where I am now.

The bottom looks a little sparse, so I might add some details to it.  Speaking of which, the back end of this is has me in a bit of a dilemma.  In Empire Strikes Back, the back side has two flaps, but for some reason AMT only molded one on there.  I'm debating whether or not to try and make another flap or just leave it as it is.  Here's what I'm talking about:

Porkbits! Amazing work! I like the falcon also. I have a growing collection of x-wing miniatures too. The game is pretty fun if you have some one to play with.

On a build note. Five models done in six days! That is definitely a record for me. There is a model show down in Austin  that I am going to, I will try and get some pictures up by Sunday.

You're welcome, Bish. Happy to have joined the GB. I'll of course stick around and watch the other builds before the GB ends, can't get enough of SW. I don't think I can resist joining next year's GB, especially if TFA turns out to be halfway decent. :-)

Bish, glad I gave you food for thought with this build. That's how I built the Y--just started doing internet searches and then pulled weathering stuff I liked the most from various builds I saw online.

In any event, I might do a separate WIP thread for the X-Wing, after I've taken a bit of a break. The next SW GB isn't until 2017, right?

As for the Blockade Runner, that's actually a playing piece from the X-Wing miniatures game (believe it or not). There are expansion sets, including capital ships, and the Runner is one of the sets. So of course I bought it for display rather than for game play. :-)
