4. PE, AM, scratch building is allowed.
5. WIP pics area must, also **** please consider posting a different WIP thread in the appropriate forum, to show off you outstanding work for others who aren’t following the GB to enjoy.*****

This build is wide open to whatever you can think of Boeing related, Biplanes, Bombers, Fighters, Airliners, Missiles, Space and companies like Ford and BMW are even partnered with Boeing.

Here are some links to get some ideas.
Spiderbook Boeing partner list
Boeing Planes

I have a list of some who are/were interested since its conception last August. If you were interested and I forgot you, sorry, I simply didn’t find the post were you expressed interest. There has been quite a bit of reference to this upcoming build over the months in several different threads.
Let me know if you want to/still want to jump in. Those who expressed interest but did not get to me during the pre-build are listed as "Possible Entry". Those listed as TBD have either have not decided what to build yet, or I could not find your entry but I know you decided on a subject, sorry. Just send me a note and I'll update you.

It think this probably a stupid question :) but we primarily post pics of progress here in this thread, correct? Optionally we may post in the appropriate forum by creating a new thread (which I think you clearly state). Thank you.

Correct, if you are building for this GB then post pics here. Now like you also noted, I encourage members to start a new thread so others can see and comment on your progress.

There are several members who don't follow GB's but would enjoy, and could be very helpful while following a separate WIP build thread. This is something I try to do myself.

I will be running a separate WIP of my 727 in Braniff livery in the airliner forum when I start on it.

Looking forward to your 727 Lockon, what livery are you planning? The 27's are some of my favorite aircraft.

Going to try and follow this one Steve. I am being really strict about how many GB's I have my name down for at anyone time, but given the time frame, and the fact the other half bought me a MV-22 Osprey over a year ago and is going to start nagging soon for me to build it, I might try and jump in with that when my commitments are cleared.

Well here is my entry. As for decals I am still up in the air on what to turn it into. Just waiting on winglets to arrive before I start.

Likewise, I am looking forward to your 727 build :)  As we speak, I'm trying to decide on whether to cut the Minicraft kit down to a -100 and do the prototype 727 N7001U in the United livery or a -200 in the final TWA livery.  Problem with the TWA livery is that I can't find a sheet made by anyone... Liveries Unlimited did it in 1/200 but apparently not in 1/144.

Here's the starting point

Heres my entry.  So nice when you got 2 kits in one box.  Ill be building one of them into a Philippine Airlines 737.  Used to fly in those planes a lot in the mid-2000s for work out of town.

I'd like to join in on this GB.  I have a 1/144 Minicraft B-52H I'd like to build.  Thanks.

B1,

I didn't know you could get winglets.  Huh?

Lockon,

Man I love the look of a 27! Thinking of doing a little mod eey?

Allan,

That Philippine Airlines livery colors look cool. I wonder if it's going to be a pain to apply.

Flyerduke,

Jump on in man. Now that's what I'm talking about a 52, Yeah baby, yeah.

Here's my humble entry. An unmarked Hase 1/200 727-200 in Ultra Blue Metallic Braniff Livery.

The color may be a little hard to match, but I've gotten some good ideas from the guys in the Airline GB.

Glad to have everyone on board.

Hi,

Anything Bell ? I'm surprised to find Bell the list. Did Boeing buy them out?

Yesterday, I started MRC's 1/35 Bell 47d MASH Helicopter; Is this eligible?

I don't think the chopper will take that long, so put me down for Monogram's 1/72 scale B52 as well.

Thanks,

Ken

Ken, as I understand it, they have not been bought out, Bell is still an independent company. Its just that the V-22 Osprey is a joint venture between Bell and Boeing helicopters.

Here are the 3 kits I'm vacillating over.

The Patriot PAC-3 is the Aoshima OTS (ie 1/72) JGSDF on an Isuzu Type 73 semi. Boeing does the seeker head for the missile.

Ken,

Bish is absolutely correct about Bell and the Osprey. With that being said, the rules as stated are any partnered company, so since Bell is a partner, the 47D would be fine. and the B52, perfect. I'll put you down for both.

Mark,

any one of those would be great, but I'm with Cody on this, the X-70 would be cool, that is if you were to do only one. You don't have to ya know. You can do more, like the Titan III... just sayin.

Wayne,

One of the reasons I was excited about this build was your Patriot, (not to mention I like Boeing stuff). I know your pretty swamped right now, but I'm anxious to see you start on it.

Cody,

Yes there are. Did you decide on something? I know you have several Boeing kits, too bad that Dragonfly won't work for a crossover....being a Cessna and all.

Thanks guys, I have my home internet back up so I will be more accessible in the evening if you have a question. I usually check on my Group Builds frequently. Too much, if you were to ask my wife.

Thanks MC Sounds great

and thanks to Bish tooGeeked

I had to get new rechargeable AA batteries for the camera. When I was looking at the energizers at Wal Mart,

I noticed one hanging pack priced $5.something for a pack of 4 batteries. When I went through the check out, she didn't believe me. I had to show her. Someone screwed up on that one.

So I have brand new batteries for my pictures here Big Smile

I foresee myself doing either a Revell PT-17, or a Hobbycraft P-26. Either way, anticipate seeing some bright yellow wings!

Work has begun.  Cut marks for the -200 to -100 conversion:

2015-06-18 02.08.22 by Lockon Photo, on Flickr

The staggered cut on the front is a trick I learned somewhere that helps keep the cut sections aligned better.

I'm not yet sure how I'll change the -200's round #2 inlet to the -100's oval inlet... it could be major surgery; however, I may just approximate it by thinning the sides and cutting out the top and bottom of the opening a bit.
