To B_one fixer,

This is my first also, I recall seeing this at the store and at the local pharmacy.  I could never afford one as it was way beyond my budget, this was in 1977.  I recall it cost $20.00.  That was a lot of money back then for a model kit.  I just hope I can pull this off.

I just hope I can do justice to this B-17G.  Thank you for excepting me in the Boeing GB.  I'm very excited!

Wow B-one!  Looks amazing!!! My 727 is stalled due to distractions from the real world :(  But, at least I made time to head to the IPMS Nationals in the morning - can't wait!

B1,

I added your 777 to the roster, If it turns out anything like your 767 you'll blow the doors off this GB.

That 767 really looks fantastic on the wall.   Yes Man! you did an absolutely outstanding job on the winglets and livery colors. I LOVE IT! Boeing and Hawaiian would be proud.

Toshi,

Don't worry about a thing. Your talent is right up there with the rest of us.  Your Fort is going to make a fine addition to the Wall of Fame just Like B1's.

I was watching some documentaries on the Fort lately, man what a plane.

Thanks for the kind words MC and Lockon, I hope the 777 turns out great too. I am still trying to figure out which airline to go with and if I want to turn it into an 200ER or 300ER variant. But I figure that out when it gets here.

B_one,

That is one beautiful Boeing!  Just really pretty. Impressive how you made the tail decals conform like that.  Excellent build!

To B_one fixer,

Thank you sir!  I am pretty sure these were the '70s models like the V-8 Engine, Visible P-51 Mustang, and the Visible Human Body.  There were a few more that I haven't seen.  Good luck on your final stages of your build.

To my fellow forum members of The Group Build,

I know the actual interior color is Zinc Chromete Green, but Mrs. Toshi and I could barely see what's inside.  Hence I chose Zinc Chromate Yellow.  Mrs. Toshi's words were; "If you paint the PE black, you won't be able to see it unless you get really close".

Here's the first step with the B-17G build.  The last time I touched photo etch was my P-61 Black Widow build.

Toshi

The very first time I tried photo etch I bought a bending tool called photoflex.  It fell apart in seconds.  What you see here is "The Bug" from "The Small Shop".  It looks like it'll last for a very long time.

This is one of many control boxes for this build.

Mr Toshi,

Nice to see you here my friend,

That's some tiny PE  work there. It seems to have bent alright. I use tweezers myself, but it looks like that cute little tool you have works just fine.

Here's a few progress pics of the dual F-15E build that I have going.  Sorry that the pictures arent the best quality, I'm using my phone to take the pictures.  When they are done I'm going to have the pictures taken by my sister-in-law who is a professional photographer.  Enjoy!  These are going to built OOB with the slight exception that I am using AM decals on one of the kits and may add some loadouts from the spares box.

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

The office is looking great Jeremy,

By the way, I will be moving  out of my house on Wednesday, and moving into the new one on Friday. I will be very busy for several days, so I apologize in advance for any inattentiveness to the GB. It would only be because I did not get to my computer or I'm so pooped that I couldn't.

To my fellow Group Build forum members,

I ran out of zinc chromate yellow, I ordered some from eBay.  It should arrive on Thursday.  I purchased two bottles of Model Master zinc chromate yellow.  I'll stop by everyday to see progress in this Boeing Group Build.

I'll be messing around with some PE while I wait for my paints.

Thank you,

Toshi

Some updates on my 737. Im actually further down the completion road but slow internet at home means uploading pics to Photobucket is a pic by pic affair. Oh well.

Upgrades on the wing lights. I shaved off a portion of the wings where the lights would sit:

Drilled out holes where the "lights" would normally be:

Painted the area black, and the holes silver:

Superglued in a nice block of clear plastic:

Motortooled close to flush:

Then sanded and polished smooth:

More later...

No bucks, no Buck Rogers
