Well here they are.  I went with a splinter over light blue for the original entry and a desert theme for the second.  Going to let the paint cure over night and lay the decals tomorrow.  With a few touch ups of course....I know, these little guys don't have much detail and all, but I tried to add a few weathering bits and stuff to help them out.  ;)

Thanks for the vote of confidance. I think i will try making copy's and practicing first. I am not sure i would try them in 72nd scale, but if the 24th goes well i might give 32nd ones a go. I know a guy at the club who does his own for 32nd and thats really impressive.

So, what has been going on with my Corsair? Unfortunately, not much. But, what I have done was to test the Montex insignia mask process. I drew out a very rough, and I mean VERY rough, sketch of stars and bars insignia on some Tamiya tape and cut it per the original masks. I then applied and painted it on a stunt model per their instructions. Results? I need some serious practice prior to applying this on to my Corsair. It's all about getting the masks in perfect alignment so that there is no bleed through at the seams. Although much of my frustration was likely due to the poor test mask I made. As such, I would much prefer to practice with one of the actual masks. Thus, for the sake of time, I will be utilizing the decals.

Great looking stuff coming out by all, as we approach the final month.

Thanks everyone for the interest expressed on the idea of a Kriegsmarine 262.  Full on rescribing is new to me too.  So went out to the local stationary store to pick up some Dymo tape.  They didn't have the correct thickness, so have some of the embossing type on order from amazon.

Greetings everyone. I regret that I have been off the GB grid for far too long and I need to get all caught up here. Certainly has been some terrific talent being demonstrated. So, let's get started shall we.

 Eagle: I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am to see you on here building and to be back among us my friend. I do hope you are doing well. Love your subject and it appears that you are off to a terrific start. Just like riding bike, eh?

 Matt: Holy Smokes! that is awesome. I am hugely impressed with what you have accomplished on your Pfiel. Every aspect is so well done. Incredible work on the detailing and an absolutely outstanding job on painting and weathering. Seriously, I am completely taken aback by your skills and talent. Thank so much for sharing your build with us.

 Dan: Wow! Nice save on the NMF. I love that you are doing a VLR P-51. That's exactly what I have planned for the Tamiya P-51D that I have in my stash. Very cool markings are to be found on them.

 Trabi: Really like the Ta-154 and it is nice to see you building one. Excellent solution to your wing warp issue. Looks like it worked out well.

 Jack: Love the idea of you doing a Kriegsmarine 262. Awesome concept. I wish you well on the rescribing. That is certainly not a skill I have developed yet. Looking forward to seeing your work on this.

 Lost: What can I say? You simply continue to impress me to no end with your scratchbuilding skills. It really is very fun to watch and to learn from. Thank you.

Hey everyone, I know this is a late start, but Bish has granted me entry into his cool GB, so here are the first pics.  I started around 8:15 last night along with another PM kit, the p.13A I'm doing for the Weekend GB.  As you know, the PM kits ...well, there's not much to them and the fit is..well, it's a PM kit.  The fun I have with these is coming up with a camo scheme!    No, I'm not sure yet what it will be.  LOL!  Anyway, here are the first pics.  Enjoy.

I like the look of that Matt. Really nice job on the scheme and i do like the yellw rudders and metal rear spinner. Really nice build. thanks for showing it here, i'll wait until the weekend to add it to the roster.

I have been busy plugging away on this in my spare time and am going to call it done.  Still need to add the pitot tube on the left wing and make a base for it, but that will come.

Now that TS-30 Silver Leaf worked out great, the rest of the painting is back on schedule.

When the paint pealed up after removing the masks for olive drab and flat aluminum, I sprayed Tamiya TS-30 Silver Leaf. I very happy with the results, the spray competently covered over the pealed paint.
