So I'm bad for updating as I go. Here are some shots of what I've got completed on my ar-234 as time comes here and there :)

Wheel wells updated and weathered.
I realized after looking at some reference photo's that the kit's recomendation on the colour was incorrect.

My reference from the NASM example.
As I'm going for a 1946 what if build colours can be interpreted I suppose.

And I temporarially installed the gear to glue together so they can be painted and rigged up with lines as one unit.

Lines installed on the pedals. A few left to go once these are set in place.

More lines and a view of the cockpit coming together.

Control column together awaiting final paint.

Finally wheels clamped and drying.

Coin, don't worry, i am terrible at doing updates. Off to a good start, and you can do what ever scheme and colours you like, thats why i like what if builds.

Steve, I'll cast my vote for a nice stain. Great info on calling the eugen in the masculine. Looking forward to some "TA DA" pics.

Thanks guys :)
I got a little more done last night once the kids were alseep and my wife was watching her rich screaming housewives tv. A little drink, some Foo Fighters live vinyl and some model building made it a pretty good end to the day.

Lines joined together and drying, waiting for final bends and paint.
I accidentally broke off the left hand gauge pannel while handling Super Angry

Gear painted.

Plus some tires on dowels! HaHa!

And lots of enginey bits before weathering. Base coats of zinc chromate, steel and jet exhaust. Not that any of this will be overly seen unless you are right up to it close with a flashlight ;)

I’m done with the Eugen, he was a fun build and wouldn’t mind building him again but as German 1945.
The scene portrays the Eugen a day before bomb test Able and most of the crew is waiting to disembark.
Enjoy the pics.
Bish, I'mthinking pic 3 or 5 for the wall if you like.

Thanks guys, Here are a few more picturs without the background. I must have taken 50 of the "sea" pictures and just couldn't, for the life of me, get them level to the horizon. Dangit, I'll have to take some more for my records and hopefully get them level.

Steve,

Wow! Spectacular job on this build! You should take some pictures in black and white, I bet you could convince some they are real pictures of Eugen. I can't say enough good things about this build!

Steve, i can only echo the others, WOOOOOOOOOOOW, that is really something. Ashide from the ship, which is amazing, i love how you have set it. The water really makes me think of a tropical lagoon. It just pains me to think what was about to happen to this lovely ship.

I will get to the pics in a bit, and if you don't mind, i will take a couple of liberty's as i think it deserves it.

Now that...That right there is what you call eye popping, mind blowing, jaw dropping, saliva inducing, heavy panting incredible. Seriously Steve, your Prinz Eugen is unbelievabley fantastic. You sir, are filled with masterful talent and skill and I am personally honored that you have shared them with us. I can only hope that he finds a place of honor somewhere where an incredible number of folks can gawk their brains out at your work. Thank You. Thank so much.

Steve, absolutely amazing work on Der Prinz. The detail's just mind boggling! Please send some of those in to FSM, I'd love to see them in an upcoming issue. Great job. Your hard work paid off.

Thanks, you guys are too much LOL. It is great to have people appreciate all the hard work that goes into a build whether it's a ship, plane, or armor.

Thanks again.

Well, i didn't think one would do it justice, and those little boats and figures deserve as much attention as the Prinz himself.

Hey Gang. Finally feel as though I have some viable progress to share. The other day I shot a gloss coat on the cockpit parts and fuselage with Alclad aqua gloss in preparation for an oil wash:

I actually got a healthy dose of time at the bench today mainly due to the fact that it was a 102 here and I was none to keen on working in the yard. I applied the oil wash and finished all of the cockpit PE. Thanks for having a look.

That look good Joe. What do you make of that Aqua gloss. I have been thinking of switching to that from future.

Looks good Joe, you're making good progress there!

I think the tank, car, and figures are done here if I don't find anything that needs more tinkering. The base is almost there. Going to try to get some figure photos up and the whole thing next weekend.

Funny you should mention 102 Joe, it was 91F/33C/-296 Kelvin here. I took the top off the car and went for a drive, by the time I got home I was too baked to get the photos of the figures taken or much of anything else...) Dead

Joe,

The F4U office is looking great! I am curious too how the Alclad gloss works too.

Ok, figures pretty much painted. I wish I were as good as Highlander over on the figures forum but I think they look decent if not great. I might still end up doing a little more fiddling with them.

Wish they were all the same scale but I'm setting them up on the base so hopefully the size differences won't be too obvious:
