Wow, those are neat Steve, I agree- much better than the flat PE ones. 

So you're not putting on your industial strength Opti-visor and painting their eyeballs? 

I'm interested to see how your water redo turns out. I hope it comes out to your expectations. It is indeed a real treat to watch your process. And those figures are the boss. That is certain to add to your presentation as a whole. Great stuff Steve, just great stuff.

What happens between all those "finally got the ..... completed" posts? Well, for me, it's a shotgun effect of partially worked on pieces in various stages. Not to mention the hodge podge of PE parts cut out and awaiting installation. This is my current state of progress and hopefully I make some motion towards bringing it together today. 

I think we all know that feeling Joe. Look forward to seeing those pics.

I'm still not supper happy with the color and texture. It seems the medium varnish I'm using is leaving tiny bubbles and just dosnt look right. I think I will lighten it up a little and get some thinner varnish.

That lettering looks good.

Lettering looks good to me too Steve. Did you apply them directly? You can also apply the transfers to decal paper and then use them like decals too. 

I was wondering about that, I just applied them directly. They were tough to line up but are so small you really have to looks to see them.

The building phase of the Waffentrager is done, bar some minor filling. 

A special shout out to Doog for helping me scratchbuild pistons for the recoil spades...his guidance was crucial. 

I'm still not entirely sure what I want my paint scheme to be - any ideas? This is what I'm currently aiming for, though I'm sure I won't be able to make it look this nice:

Model Crazy - Nice ship. I don't know how you ship guys have the patience with railings, chains and all that PE. But the results are definitely worth it.

Moff - that muzzle brake looks awesome. Can't wait to see more progress.

Ok, I have been on vacation, but was able to make some progress when I got back.

Here she is as she sits now. I shot the light blue on and freehanded the demarcation line, which meant I had to come back with the green and fix a few booboos, but then it was off to clear coat and decals. I have a Kagero set of Cartograf decals which are excellent, but they didn't include national insignia or stencils, so I used the thickr Tamiya ones, and fortunately they worked out ok.

Next up is a panel line wash and attaching the engine. Hopefully I can get it on without messing up the paint job. Probably should have attached it earlier...

Brandon- Everything is looking fantastic. Excellent progress. As for getting the engine on, I'm certain you will nail it. By the way, Thanks.

Brandon, that green with the satin finish looks beautiful. It really accentuates the curves of the aircraft. Will you be using a different finish for the completed model, or will you be using satin?

Everybody else: I've primed the model and I'll upload picks when I can. I've decided to skip the tools, as I was getting antsy to paint, and the way they have you bend and glue the tool clamps is finicky and annoying.

Agreed, in awe of all you ship builders!

Have had zero time to sit at the bench this last month with kids sports and liall that taking up all my time.  Hope to find some time in the coming weeks to sit down a little bit and continue building all that resin.  Having to build and plumb two Jumo engines is a challenge, to say the least.
