You know you will be more than Welcome to join in with as many as you want. But like you I am trying to avoid over committing myself. I am actually tying to squeeze in a build that won't be GB related at some point.

Does it have indy tracks or rubber bands.

Rubber bands. If things are slow next year, I may jump in with something additional.

Cat daddy, i have had a good think on it. The IAF markings would not work as the State of Israel did not exist until 1948. Unless your thinking of an Israeli unit flying with allied forces, so if it had Isaeli markings but a USAAF type scheme, that might work.

Corsair it is then, unless something else shiny catches my eye between now and then. I'm going to the model show in Olivehurst, CA on Saturday so who knows what I'll find for sale.

I didn't know Trrump did 72nd armour, will be interesting to see that.

Here it is. I have been holding on to it for a while for this build.

I have come across some armour ones in the past, I will se what I can find. Not to sure about ships, you don't often see what if's of those. The Germans did have some U-Boats in development at the end of the war.

GAF, hope you don't mind, I have added that link to the opening post so it will be easier to see as the thread progresses.

Don't mind at all.  IF I could run across "what if" subjects for armor and ships, I'd post those also.

PS> Oh, I found a kit for the XP-83 in resin, but it's long out of production and the chances of finding one seem slim.  Expensive anyway, and in 1/72nd.

GM, ye, I was reading one of the reviews and it was saying how old the Airfix one was. I have not build a sword kit so can't vouch for them, but they seem to have some interesting subjects. This is the scalemates page and you can find some info and reviews on the kits.

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/106685-sword-sw-72025-p-80c-shooting-star

gamera, thanks for that info, you can certainly see how tehse developed from that earlier tank. And definatly plenty of allied aircrfat subjects available for this.

Gamera

From what I've read there were two prototypes of the Type 4 built and one for the Type 5. The two Type 4s seem to have been completed, the Type 5 was found incomplete including not having the main gun mounted. Neither was put into production or saw any service.

The Japanese did produce about 200-250 of the Type 3 Chi Nu model with the Type 4 turret and 75mm gun mounted to the hull of a Type 97 Chi Ha. All were kept in the home islands for the Allied invasion and so never saw service either.

Steve: Good eye, all of these were based off the Type 97 Chi Ha but beefed up- on steroids if you will.

BTW: Chi is a prefix meaning Medium Tank. Ha, Nu, To are numbers- aka Chi To - Medium tank type 4...

This is why I like geting involved, lots of great information to learn about these subjects! Thanks, Gamera!

OK OK the Red Tail Shooting Star is a go. The problem is finding a 1/72 kit, but it can be done.

Sword has 4 kits. One A/B, two C's, one of which is marked as over Korea. The 4th is an RF-80

GAF, thanks for those links. Not sure about kits of the 83. Most what if aircraft tend to be Luft 46, but there could be one some where. Those 2 Japanese tanks, I recall reading something on here about at least one of them a while back. Did either of those enter service or any sort of production before the war ended. They certainly look different to the Japanese tanks we are used to seeing from earlier in the war.

Bish,

I'm voting for the E-10 too.

Funny, I have the E-75, the Jagdpanzer E-100 and the Lowe in my stash too! But, when I'm ready, I'm going to break out the Japanese Type 4 to go with Gamera's Type 5.

What the heck, I'll commit, put me down for the Fine Molds 1/35 Type 4 "Chi-To"

Thanks

Nice, don't see much Japanese armour, now we have 2.

I really loike the look of that Lowe. Its the first of there kits i have bought and befor eseeing it i was planning on some Voyager PE. But after i looked at the kit i relised it just doesn't need anything. I bought another of there kits soon after. Unfortuantly i have to get them from Asia.

Your now on board.

For those who might be interested in what aircraft might be available in 1946, here's a short and not comprehensive list of some.

http://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft/ww2-aircraft-1946.asp

PS> I wonder if anyone makes a model of this?

http://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft/detail.asp?aircraft_id=948

The XP-83 as detailed fitted with a 37mm nose cannon might be a suitable ground attack aircraft.

Thanks Bish, figured it was just a little hang-up of some sort there Wink

Bruce: Awesome!!! Bow Down I have that kit in the stash too but things seemed to be headed in the 'go big or go home' direction so I pulled out the Type 5 monster!

Thanks guys.

Gamera, I have just added it. I thought I did yours and some others this morning before leaving for work. We have dodgy internet here and I must have lost the connection as I hit post. Its just taken 2 attempts to update it now, but it should be there.

If I am still missing anyone, please give me a nudge.

Bish: I'd vote for the Jagdpanzer E-100- looks like sheer wicked brutality!

Btw: You didn't put me down on the roster yet, I'm about 1/3rd of the way down on page one. If there's an issue with the Type 5 I've got several other subjects like a Dragon T28 and Bronco Comet both in 1/35th that ought to work. Plus a bunch of wingy things...
