Would of had an update sooner, but after I had everything closed up discovered a wip of this model indicating the front decking behind the cowl was too long.  So into surgery it went:

The foot board underneath the rudder pedals was provided as a single PE piece, but had to be cut in three (middle section not used).

Added some hollow brass rods for stronger fit.

Placing the  fin atop the tail, used sheet plastic to temporarily guage an even spacing between the two.  Another  piece of sheet plastic will be shimmed in place forward of the cockpit.  This will need to be trimmed and sanded to shape.

Well, I got a little more done early this morning when I got home from work before the misses woke up. I am really enjoying this build but having a time with all the very small parts.(lol) I got one half of the cockpit assembled and airbrushed the interior of the fusilage.

I need to start painting the small parts before I place them so it would be easier. Is that the norm?? Have I been during it wrong on both the "Zero" and this build?? Have I answered my own question??

After I finish the other half of the cockpit the remaining build should go a lot faster. Suggesstive feedback is always welcomed.

I will be posting more tonight or first thing in the morning...going to head out for the day and watch some March Madness with friends and enjoy the time with the wife, good friends and some tastie food!!  Hitting the bench when we get back...hope all of you are well.

It's looking really great. As far as painting the details?  I personally paint everything separate and cement everything in.  Then I go back and do touch up work as needed.  I know of modelers that can assemble everything and then they paint.  This is too hard for me, I can't do that.  My skills are not that good. Always, Always, and Always remember "There are no wrong or right way to do this hobby.  If you're happy with the build, then that's all that counts."  I hope this helps.  By the way, this is just my humble opinion. As you can see, the two halves of the fueselage has been cemented together.  I knew that it would take awhile to get this job done.  With a little patience and a lot of finesse, it all turned out well.  

There are only two places that needed some putty work, not bad for a 20+ year old kit at all.  When I'm done with sanding and cleaning up of the putty, I'll go back and do some last minute sanding. 

I will be priming the fueselage with Tamiya Grey Lacquer Surface Primer.  At that point I can see if there's any thing that needs to be sanded or needs more putty work.  

I need to paint this in sections as the wing span is too big even unattached. I hope the wearher will be nice so I can do everything outdoors.  Until then please view the on going project below.  Thank you forum members for your support.

Hunter, nice job of painting the cockpit. I always seem to end up with faded spots when I AB an assembly. You look to have nice, even coverage.  

Well, I did start today, mostly due to it being cold and wet and I cannot work on the outside porjects.  Been planning my colors for the interior based on screen shots from the show Gold Monkey and a bunch of web research from otheres who built this plane.  I just primed all the resin parts a few minutes ago.  I have to prime resin because the types of acrylics I use tend to orange peel if I don't clean the resin part of its mold release and then as a safeguard, give it a light coat of primer.

I'll try to get pics as I go but PhotoBucket is back to its quirky, pop-up, Jave resource hogging self. May be spending the afternoon moving to another host site. I am also rumaging through my parts boxes for two 1/48 scale 3 blade props.  I thought I had a pair from an old Monogram A-26 kit stashed in some box in my black hole known as my "stash".
