Real G

And if there are any doubters of Mach Two's infamous quality out there:

http://www.ipmshawaii.0catch.com/review_neal_izumi_p6m-2_seamaster_1-72scale_mach2.html

My review when I bought (yes bought) the kit.  Is it that bad?  No, it's worse.

But that's what modeling is all about, right?  Torturing ourselves with inferior kits with abominable low quality?

I know the feeling. I bought the Mach 2 B-45 even after i had read the reviews. But it fit perfectly into a larger project i have. Somtimes we just have to take the plunge.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Roger that Steve!

Heck, I should not even WANT to touch that thing!!!  Aw darn it, I touched it already.  Bang Head  But no assembly - the whole kit needs to be attacked with sandpaper before any fun starts.  For those who do not know Mach Two kits - STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

This is going to be one scaaaaaary build.

Hey G that's cool! It would be sweet to put it on the water. Remember through GB doesn't start until Jan 1.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I have no business joining a group build due to my glacial pace, but what the heck we need a jet, so...

I obviously have extremely poor judgement in everything I do, including picking my models!  This one is dedicated to Phil "Bondo" Brandt.

I began doing some hardcore planning on how to tackle all the mods I want/will do to my Kingfisher and at this point I am not sure I can complete the build in one year. YIKES !!!

So, I am going to add a second kit that I can get done for certain and also try to complete the Kingfisher. I just don't want to rush the scratch and custom work on the Kingfisher. What I have planned for that kit has not been done before, to the best of my knowledge.

I've been waiting for this one! Please put me down for a 1/32 Revell Arado Ar-196 B floatplane and a 1/48 Mirage Lublin R XIII Ter/Hydro.

I'll be building the Revell out of the box except for the addition of HGW belts, and the Lublin will be built with the Part PE set.

I have a feeling one will be significantly easier than the other.

Alright !! I've got you down for a twofer. I can't wait to get rolling on this.

And that's a shame too.  Some of those pre-war German floats were absolutely gorgeous.  I would relish an opportunity to see that one for sure.

Bish - Dollar for dollar, the 1/72 Sword 196 is the finest one on the market.  Now if Eduard would just get moving on a canopy mask!

Thanks Mopar. Another company has a mask for that kit, RES-IM.

I keep following this thread even though I haven't joined the build. Sign me up for a PBY-5A Catalina in 1:48. IDF markings.

Glad to have you aboard. You're on the roster.

Now thats a nice pic, and good to see these still flying. Not many wartime German aircraft types are still airworthy, so anything is a bonus.

Nice job on the badge as well, i like that.

Cat Daddy

Does frozen water count? I bought this the other day.

I gonna have to go ahead and say it doesn't fit the theme of the build. We're gonna stick with float planes and boats or pontooned helos.

BK

a reasonable answer to a smart-assed question.

I may join later. I have IDF decals for a PBY-5a but not the kit at the moment.
