My turn. I completed the 251 but I'm not going to add the figures, I have so much more to work on.

So here ya go. Thank you Bish for hosting this group build. It has probably been 30 years since I last build this kit and it didn't come out anythig like this.

Enjoy

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Looking good there Bobby, be nice to get this wrapped up.

Thank you sir.  Been a fun kit for sure!  I thought the decal for the front grill was going to be a pain, but it went on like a charm.  Lots of MicroSol to get the decals to lay down, especially on the hood!

Looking really good Bobby, nice job.

Thank you John.  It is a really nice kit!  Lots of extras with it that I just can't find room for!  LOL!  Gernades, knives, the rifles I put in the racks, canteens, cargo, helmets.  There was a lot of extras!

Didn't get a chance to finish it up tonight.  I got the driver in and the decals on.  Still need to do a couple of more coats of MicroSal and finish up the rest of the troops.  Embarrassed  Maybe tomorrow.

Have a few more progress pics for you.  Started on the crew and added the machine guns.  Never really done figures before so this is a challenge for me.  Hope they turn out alright. Hoping to be close to finishing today, so be on the look out for more pics tonight.  Thanks for looking.

Bobby,

Great job on the figures! Looking forward to seeing how you finish painting them!

I haven't pulled my halftrack out yet, I want to finish my Type 4 for the 1946 GB, then dig into this one. I'm not entering any more GB, until I finish all the GB's I've entered. Unfortunately, that will include your RAF GB in April, Bish.

Thank you sir.  Doing a little research on uniform colors now.  hope to have all completed soon.

I hear ya about GB's!  They are addicting for sure.  I'm in about 6 right now.  LOL!

Nice work there Bobby, I think it's simpler to just do all the figures at once too.

If you can't find the guys head maybe scratchbuild him a small Jack O' Lantern to replace it? Propeller

Brilliant idea!  You know if I can't find it I WILL do that now!  LOL!

Nothing major to report...just wanted to post a pic of the "massing of the troops!"  LOL!  I have not done much figure work before this, but boy is this kit giving me the opportunity to do some!  LOL!

Bobby

SurpriseEmbarrassed Just noticed a headless soldier....sorry.  Where is his head?  Huh?

Nice work guys!

Bobby, personally I think the weathering and grime look pretty darn good.

Thank you sir!  I'm working on the figures now.  Something else I haven't done much with.  That and I'm getting all teh bits and pieces for inside the halftrack....rifles, radios, canteens..they actually have a bunch of combat knives!  Man are the small!  LOL!

Hey Eagle,

Great job on a classic Tamiya kit; one of my all time favorites.  On the rear drive train, the small road wheels would have a molded on rubber rim. (We had one of these parked out in front of our battalion headquarters in Germany; wish I had taken more pictures!)

Lookin' good!Smile

TAD

Thank you TAD!

Oh man!  I knew about the rubber rims too!  Thank you!  I got into the weathering I forgot to make them rubber.  Embarrassed

Hey, where were you stationed in Germany?  I was in Germany for 3 years at Bitburg.

Bish

Thats coming on nicley Bobby. I think your being a bit hard on yourself there.

Thank you sir!  LOL! been hard on myself for sometime now.  But I appreciate the kind words.  Means a lot.  Thank you mate!

Now I have to mount the muchine guns and start on 8 figures!  Doing the driver first to get him in (notice the steering wheel is missing....waiting for the driver to be finished!)  Stick out tongue

My apologies everyone for not posting pics.  I've been taking them, just haven't had the time to post....so here are a couple of posts with the progress of the halftrack.

This build has been a little different for me..a challenge in a good way.  I really appreciate the help with the color issue I had too.  Great stuff..many thanks to all!

I'm not crazy about the weathering I'm doing.  Have you ever just not been able to get into the zone with something?  That's the way I feel about the weathering on this one.  Didn't want to do too much weathering, so I don't know if that's my "block" or not.  The Tamiya kit is very nicely done.  I had some "self inflicted" Embarrassed issues with the windscreen, but I kinda got around it.  Not pretty fixes, but hey, it's a utility truck.  LOL!  Whistling.

The vinyl tracks went on easier then I had expected which was a plus.

Here she is.  Enjoy.  Also, awesome work everyone!  Very inspiring!

Finally, finally....I have found some time to finish the tracks. They were a bit of a pain, especially the so easy to break links. The next challenge will be to fit it on the chassis because, as you guessed it, it doesn't fit. So there will be some trimming, chopping and filling.
