Ohhhhhhh the 163 and SR-71 sound cool guys!

BTW: I have the F-16 mostly together. The landing gear has so many struts and other parts I went ahead and attached it before painting. So now I've got to figure out some way to mask all of that. Hopefully get some photos up soonish.

try wrapping dry tissues and then use an eye dropper to drop some water to pack it in place.

Cap: Looks really good, love how the camo came out.

Thanks PJ, I was wondering how I'd do that with tape. Forgot about tissue, I'll give that a try. Yes

I use tissue to mask bays and cockpits. Never thought of holding it in place with water thoguh, thanks for the tip PJ.

You are all welcome fellas. The water trick works really well in securing the tissue to tough to secure areas.

Well, I'm finally done with this build, and good riddance. I don't know how much o it is the kit and how much of it is me, but this thing fought me every step of the way. It was a struggle just to finish it, but here it is, after almost been consigned to the shelf of doom when all I had to do was add the pitot tube and an antenna.

The kit is Eduard's 1/48 Mirage IIIC, and I painted it with Vallejo Mirage Blue for the topside and a mishmash of metal colors for the bottom side (Mr. Paint and Alclad, mostly).

Even the photography fought me, and in this case, Photobucket is deciding to mess with me by not letting me click the share link...

Thanks for looking. I plan on coming back into this one with a Phantom or another MiG-15 or maybe the MiG-21 or Intruder. This is a fun build, so thanks for hosting!

The first pic is fine for the front.

That is real nice BD, glad you stuck with it. I do like that colour. Great work.

And don't worry, your not the only one who has issues with PB. I have the same issue with the share link and every time i go on i am waiting for it to freeze my laptop, usually halfway through writing a long post.

Just keep smiling Big Smile

Thanks, Bish!

Indeed, with PB you have to keep smiling. That ad that comes up with a potato that looks like a fetus is starting to eat into my dreams, though.

BD - amaxing looking Mirage.  You really turned out a nice build there.  Glad you didn't give in to the frustration.  Should be proud.

Well all, I can say that if you want a 1/48th Scale F-16XL you are going to have to work for it.  Not sure if it is because I have been building too many Tamiya kits or not, but this one is full of flask, ejector pin marks, uneven moldings, you name it.  It has been a struggle to get it to the point where it is now, but here are some pictures.

Of course I couldnt resist updating it a bit, so this is going to become a What-if F-16XL Wild Weasel.  Think that I am going to try to mimic the Have Glass V finish seen on some of the F-16CM's in Europe (Tail code SP). Should be a challenge for sure.

BD: I too am glad you stuck with her- beautiful results! Congrads! Yes

Matt: Despite your problems she looks really good now. I think the Tamiya one must be the to-go kit for F-16s since my Kinetic F-16B had quite a few issues too.

Matt, just from the photos you have so far I can see the amazing detail you have in the kit. The workmanship looks stellar and your work is certainly paying off. Great job.

Time for an update. I haven't worked on this too much lately due to holidays and dreading the decals, but I have made progress. I have started the insane decals on this kit. There are hundreds of stencils to do. This is gonna take some time as I just can't sit and do these little guys for hours on end. This is where I stand at the moment.

BK. Can you please change my kit. I'll be doing 2x 1/72 Hasegawa F-16C and a F-16D. It'll be a crossover with the FSM Build More GB. Thanks John

I'm adding True Details seats to each build.   Here is a comparison between them and the kit seat

Got two painted up. Waiting for other two to come in. Added scratch pull rings

 Gentlemen,

Would like to join with a 1/48th scale Revell A-10, mostly OOB, with alternate decals, if I can locate some. Just started this recently in the Thunderbolt GB.

Many Thanks,

Been out of town for the last few weeks, but finally got back and was able to finish up - calling this one done.
