Keyda81 Toshi is speedy gonzalez, lol. I haven't been able to get started yet. I finally have the spray booth set up in my bedroom. But I've recently purchased a vehicle that needs a few things done while the weather is nice, so it's probably going to be at least a few more days. I'm itching to get started, but other things take priority.

Married to the most caring, loving, understanding, and beautiful wife in the world. Mrs. Toshi
Now with the gloss clear coat on, I can apply the decals.
I was just fooling around with this Testors paint marker. It actually works really well with absolutely no streaks at all. Amazing.
rooster513 Great start Toshi! Looks like some good clean contruction there. I wonder who will be the first one done in this GB... LOL

Cdn Colin Wow, Toshi, you're almost done! I've started my cockpit, but I'll wait until I have something worth taking a picture of before I post any.

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.
Have fun.
Here is some progression on the Raidens fueselage and cockpit.
I haven't gotten a chance to get started yet. It's been a bit crazy around here lately. I'm hoping by the end of the week I can at least crack open the box, lol.
modelcrazy That's one of the good things of the double kits, you get avoid the same mistakes.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

BTW, the last photo shows a metal made machine gun that sticks out of the fueselage.
Here is the start (WIP) of my Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden (Jack) Type 21 '302nd. Flying Group. As you see in the photos, I've already made the first Raiden as this kit came with two. At the very least, I know what to expect and hopefully not make the same mistakes! LOL!
Look forward to seeing what people put together. I should be getting to mine very early in the new year.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
I'm very keen to get started Rooster, hopefully I can post something this week.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Happy October all! The Thunderbolt GB is officially open for business!
I've got my new work area just about set up. Still have to construct the spray booth. This will be the first model worked on up in the new area. I will more than likely start tomorrow, lol.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Folgore go together.
BrandonD IS IT OCTOBER YET?! I just picked up that Eduard boxing of the Hasegawa Macchi C.202 Folgore, so put me down for that one in addition to a Tamiya Jug. I want to try airbrushing the smoke ring camo...I think. -BD-

Yeeeaah, I think I,m going for the decals. My AB just dosn't have the fine spray pattern I need.
Axemanwb I found this post that I think we might find useful here. It's about the wiring harness on radial engines. http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/2/t/149327.aspx

Great suggestion Axemanwb! I've added to the top under Reference Materials if anyone needs it.
lawdog114I'm thinking Fred Christensen's D bubbletop with the 1/48 Tamiya kit. I probably cant get to it until November though. I'm looking forward to it....
I've updated the roster lawdog...looking forward to it as well. I'll be doing the same kit but different markings.
I used a harbor freight airbrush for years. It's a decent airbrush. I recently bought an Iwata NEO gravity feed on Amazon for $60. Gravity feed is definitely the way to go. Much easier to get finer lines. Cleanup is also much easier
William 'Axeman' Hawes
In Progress: Tamiya 1/35 Panzer II
'Just' Completed: Testors P-51 1:48
If it works for you, that's all you need. I really don't have the control to use it for much other than big stuff and use a brush for details and weathering.
I have a cheap Harbor Freight special, lol. I originally bought it for my taxidermy work, which didn't really require much adjustments, none actually. I used it to spray the inside of deer ears. Everything else I do with oils and a brush.
I'm doing the gray/gray scheme. What airbrush do you have? I have used an aztek for years but reently changed to a trigger brush, the neo for iwata. I love it. I'm getting up there in age and I was struggling with control using a knob on top of the brush. I've found that I can control this brush much better. Aaron Skinner used it to do a 109 in this issue.
