I'm thinking Fred Christensen's D bubbletop with the 1/48 Tamiya kit. I probably cant get to it until November though. I'm looking forward to it....

I've updated the roster lawdog...looking forward to it as well. I'll be doing the same kit but different markings.

Axemanwb

I found this post that I think we might find useful here. It's about the wiring harness on radial engines. http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/2/t/149327.aspx

Great suggestion Axemanwb! I've added to the top under Reference Materials if anyone needs it.

IS IT OCTOBER YET?!

I just picked up that Eduard boxing of the Hasegawa Macchi C.202 Folgore, so put me down for that one in addition to a Tamiya Jug. I want to try airbrushing the smoke ring camo...I think.

Yeeeaah, I think I,m going for the decals. My AB just dosn't have the fine spray pattern I need.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I've got my new work area just about set up.  Still have to construct the spray booth.  This will be the first model worked on up in the new area.  I will more than likely start tomorrow, lol.

Here is the start (WIP) of my Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden (Jack) Type 21 '302nd. Flying Group.  As you see in the photos, I've already made the first Raiden as this kit came with two.  At the very least, I know what to expect and hopefully not make the same mistakes!  LOL!

That's one of the good things of the double kits, you get avoid the same mistakes.

I haven't gotten a chance to get started yet.  It's been a bit crazy around here lately.  I'm hoping by the end of the week I can at least crack open the box, lol.

Wow, Toshi, you're almost done!

I've started my cockpit, but I'll wait until I have something worth taking a picture of before I post any.

I was just fooling around with this Testors paint marker.  It actually works really well with absolutely no streaks at all.  Amazing.

Toshi is speedy gonzalez, lol.  I haven't been able to get started yet.  I finally have the spray booth set up in my bedroom.  But I've recently purchased a vehicle that needs a few things done while the weather is nice, so it's probably going to be at least a few more days.  I'm itching to get started, but other things take priority.

Ok, Toshi, I felt like you should have some company, so I started my Jug last night.

This is Tamiya's 1/48 P-47 Razorback. I'll save the scheme details for later, but it's not one of the stock options.

I was happy to see Mr. Paint makes Interior Dark Gull Green for the P-47, and I LOVE their paints. I primered in Gunze Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black, then laid down the Mr. Paint for the green and Testors Zinc Chromate for the other bits. Hopefully I can get some weathering in today at lunch and close up the wings in the next day or so.

I've heard great things about this kit, including, "It's the best 1/48 kit. Period." So I am looking forward to seeing if that's true.

Close up of the Dark Gull Green cockpit surfaces below.

And some more for the wheel bays. I am impressed with the way this kit is engineered.

I typically don't like cockpit walls  being molded off the fuselage halves, as the canopy rail tends to be really wide and out of scale, but Tamiya looks like they've engineered that problem out ofthis kit, and it should be pretty nice. I also love the way the spars ensure proper dihedral, and the wing root seams will hopefully need next to no work to get smooth.

I've got some Airscale decals I plan to use on the instrument panel, and an HGW harness.

Nice start BD! The cockpit detail looks REALLY good. Should be fun detail painting and weathering. I've got the bubbletop version I'll be building, so I'll be watching yours close!

Since it is a year long I think I can manage this. Put me in for the Tamiya A-10. I have just about every other one on your list lol. Plus it will actually get me something to do with my time this winter.
