Hi Bish, outstanding job on that Dora Yes

What brand makes the mask for the spinner?  Have you ever seen any at 1/72 scale?

Thanks Jack. This one was Eduard. When i checked Hannants, they have them in 48th and 32nd for both Fw 190 and Bf 109, but none in 72nd. I would love it if they did.

WOW Bish you've outdone yourself!! Love that spiral and camo!! In 1/72 I've had to cut some Tamiya tape at a VERY low angle and wrap it around, came out alright.

Armor great start on your build!!

lol, no worries, just i was a bit confused. The 190 is a 32nd kit and i have not tried AK paints yet. This was done with my good old Xtracolour.

Bish,  This just came in the mail today. This FW190DHobbyBoss kit will be the FW-190D I mentioned couple days ago. Didn't quite anticipate the directions being in Japanese, this will be interesting! I'm doing a P-47D prior to this in order to test some painting and weathering moves before hitting the 190.  Image may contain: shoes  Mike

Thanks. I notice they do have a small selection of 32nd kit, with any luck they might upscale this one.

Basic colors ar on, it will be very hard to make it look less "plastic" without any weathering on it, these things were not in service to really weather :-(

Basic painting is done, satin coat is on, I need to still paint a few small items like guns ect and then start assembling.

That blue was a hard one to get right, it is not as blue as 65 but not quite as light as the "light blue" so this was my idea of it.

Progress continues, she’s up on her landing gear now.  Luckily, the added lead weight balanced it out nicely.

Okay, assembly is finished, now on to painting and decals.  Did the underside in overall RLM65, and just laid down a base of RLM74 on the topside.  As soon as it sets up, will add the camouflage pattern.

Well, that sucked!  Had a perfectly good topside camo pattern of RLM74 (gray) and RLM83 (green) laid down, then decided to add some white, going for a Baltic/Arctic theater of operations look.  Unfortunately, the white I used was Revell AquaColor, which does not go through the airbrush nearly as well as the Vallejo Model Air colors did!  After much spitting, spattering, and blobbing, the topside paint job is pretty much back to square one.  So, although Revell acrylics work great for brush painting, the lesson for today is NOT to use them through your airbrush!
