Morning all! A few more pics, Statring into the fun part of the building...

Well Shes up on her feet now.

And her first coat of paint!

And we'll let that sit till later to cure abit. Like I said before, I work almost exclusively with acrylics, so they dry much faster. I also use Lacquer thinner to cut with and that helps the paint to "bite" better and also speeds up drying time. I had a friend come by this morning, (a styrene novice) and he was confused about canopy, stating that I told him to have mounted before paint. Thats true (for me,) IF canopy is to be closed... If open, I leave off, but paint at the same time. Any way, more later... Take care all!

I agree, that does look like excellent work in the Spifire cockpit Steve. It's probably more than I'm going to do in th Spitfire I'm about to enter.

Bish - the postie knocked on the door and has just delivered a set of Master Box 1/32 or 54mm RAF Pilots WWII era.

I'd like to do the one wearing the cap. Will that be OK for this GB ?

Cheers

Tony

Nice. Will these be stand alone or along side an aircraft. Either way, they are fine and just the sort of thing i was hoping for.

I think it was fermis who said about doing a Mini Cooper in RAF markings. I hope we get to see that.

Hey Bish, I somehow missed this GB but I still have plenty of time I do believe. I have the old Revell 1/32 car door Typhoon but I'm currently trying to get the upgraded parts for the bubble top one that I like better specially with the shark mouth markings which look super cool.

That would be nice. Let me know once you get the parts and i will sign you up.

Doug i like the look of that in that colour. I am the same with canopy's. Though for an open canopy, if it has a seperat front windshield, i will put that on. For my 3 Stuak's, i have one with the conplete canopy on and two with jst the fixd secions fitted and the rest off.

Done, glad to have you on board. Which marking option are you going for. Just in case you have not made up your mind, i checked out that kit, and 2 of them fit this nicely, the 3rd, the RAAF one, would not.

Perfect. Even though thats an RNZAF aircraft, it was under RAF command, so that counts.

Have you seen the footage from that mission.

Nope, that was me.  The RAF Mini Club is restoring one as a RAF vehicle, which I'm following.

Nice to see the color going on, Doug. Looks very nice.

Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice.....err my desk, the cockpit is complete and fuselage is sealed up and the wings will go on tomorrow. This is a nice kit and builds easily and quickly. I am striaght OOB on this one. I don't feel like any addons at the moment.

I got the wings on the Spit. I have a few seams to fix but nothing major. I still need to add the wing tips since I'm not building the cliped wing version.

Well, dang...I'm going to need to get my butt moving on this build!  I've gotten the flight deck mostly assembled, some of what Vallejo calls interior green, which appears to be much lighter that what I've seen here, applied, and starting painting the smallest pilots I have ever seen in my entire life!  Pics to come soon. ...

But I have been doing lots of research on the Dambusters raid, I'm listening to a book called "the last Dambuster", and I have been watching documentaries on youtube about the mission....

Here are three photos in regards to the pilots seats.  I haven't added the pilot as I'm not good at all at painting figures.
