WOW man!! That's one groovy looking far out bathroom man...........:hippie:

LOL, the wife may not approve of a green/sea grey/ocean grey combo.

I did once suggest the bedroom would look nice in a tasteful splinter pattern of RLM 81/83 with some subtle mottling around the edges. But for some reason she wasn't impressed.

Damn woman Big Smile

Thank you Bish and no worries.

yes, still 1/48 and a Mustang-original Monogram P-51 B/C.  I'm not aware of any obvious difference between the B/C and the III other than maybe interior colors but someone please correct me if I'm wrong

Thanks

Thanks Bob, i'll change the roster.

I am not sure on interiour colours, if they would have been painted the US colour or the RAF one if it was destined for them. But i am sure others will know.

PJ, i hope you didn't get the bathroom and bedroom scheme mixed up with your Spit scheme.

I convinced my wife to paint the living room to match my reproduction US Army WWII (Parsons) "M-41" field jacket, maybe OD #3.  Took the jacket to the paint store for a custom mix, to make sure the color was right.  The room is still that way.

What is that going to be Dan, an RAF display?? Oh man how cool is that!!

Bish,

Since my AB is down again for a few days while I wait for a new air valve and I can't work on the Val for now, I decided to start the Hurricane. I have a WIP/Review thread so I won't go into that much detail here but here is the start.

I started on the cockpit which is very detailed and the fit is excelent. The kit comes with a small PE set which most if it goes in the pit.

The kit also includes a very nicely detailed Merlin engine which I will be showing.

I will also be building a diorama for it with some of Airfix's 1/72 RAF ground crew figures and equipment.

Hey Steve and Dan, those are lookin' good guys!!!

Ok, just signed on with ImageShack, let's see if this works....

The formating is a little different from PB but it looks ok to me. And again, sorry about the quality of the photos- some how the glass cover over the camera lens on my phone cracked and I had to take my modeling tools and chip it out. I'm going to have to see about getting it repaired.

BTW: ImageShack was running a half price sale when I signed up - less than twenty bucks US for an entire year. More than worth it to get away from the bajillion pop-up ads on PB. I wish I switched over monthes ago....

Gam, great!

When you upload pictures to the Shack resize them to 640-480 (Medium) to keep them from being way oversized on email.

PS you'll love IS.

Thanks Steve! Yeah, they're posting over-sized. I figured I could go ahead and post them and later reduce them as I figure out the editing functions on their website.

PS: So far I already do!!! I've got a jacked-up gaming rig and PH's billions of ads still slowed it down to a crawl. IS runs smooth as silk!

Nice, i guess just having the one colour is a bit easier to get through the wife approval system.

Daniel, Steve, Gamera - Fantastic work for your respective builds.

I have a slow start for my S.E.5a with some holes drilled for rigging, and testing out some wood grain effects. I was intending on using very thin copper wire for eyelets and 1mm copper tube for turnbuckles, but they are way to big for 1/48 scale. so I will have to try and source smaller diameter tube and do away with the eyelets. I wont to use mono filement as EZ-Line is really hard to find in my location.

No build is complete without a helping hand, or paw as it maybe..

In Progress
1/48 Tamiya P47-D Bubbletop
1/48 Hobby Boss TBF-1C Avenger (on hold)
Pending
1/48 Roden S.E.5a
1/48 Airfix Walrus

Thanks Modelcrazy: Some good detail cockpit work.

Thanks Gamera.

Thanks Damouav.

Awhile back when photobucket started to have problems, I switched over to Flickr. Free accounts get a full 1 TB of space. I've been very happy with it. You click on the arrow at the bottom of the page to the photo you want to share, it will pop up a BBC code. Copy and paste that code into the text field you want to post in. Smile

My Lancaster came with a in flight stand with two spitfires that I've already finished.

I think you will like usung ImageShack. That stupid PB is just a plain PITA to deal with. I deleted all my pictures and clicked on the delete account tab a couple of days ago and it still says that the account  will be deleted by 7/4 but it's still active.

My antivirus intersepted aTrojan from the PB site. I did not click on any of the pesty banners but my Eset program sotpped it dead cold.

It's great you got it at 1/2 off! I paid $19 for the last 2-3 years but when I renewed it in January was near $40 but well worth it.

That pit looks fantastic! Is that  the new Airfix 1/48 kit?

You said you are getting figures in 1/72 for this build?

My mistake, 1/48 figures.

The kit is the new Italeri offering.

PJ: Thanks, I'm already liking it from just the five photos I uploaded last night. I don't know now why it took me so long. Forty bucks a year is a bargin to get away from all those pop-up ads- and at nineteen it was a steal! And a trojan- ack thank God I never got any of those (or at least my anti-virus never reported any).

Dan: Wow, that looks like a really nice set. Personally I'd have prefered a battle-damaged Bf-109 instead of another Spit but hey I guess that would be rubbing it in???
