You go B1!

27 hours in I have changed my mind, I am going to do Lindbergh's lesser known night fighter...

Used Vallejo's black primer, covered pretty well. So fingers crossed, all we need now is the dull aluminium to complete the painting, then there is some decalling to do.

The nose is complete and ready to pop on the front of the fuselage when it comes out of the paint shop.

SO it is coming together slowly but surely, should be done in time...

And here we go

The paint scheme should be simple enough...

F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

Thanks Tony and Lewbud

Okay, got up to 15 hours and needing a sleep...

The cockpit was completed with a bit of artistic licence. I departed from the kit's painting instructions after looking at photos.

Then the fuselage closed up. A lot of work filling the seams, checked a few times with the silver Gundam marker but there always seemed to be a bit more to do. The nose cone had it's genuine hand tooled aluminium decals installed, still trying to get them to conform with Mr Mark Softer

The wing is in two halves with a big seam on the underside trailing edge and through the flaps, got it filled with the third application of putty.

The wing is installed and setting in overnight. Hopefully some good metallic painting tomorrow. I am using Vallejo's "acrylic" Metal Colours, using a bit of thinner as it is over 30 degrees here.

Good night see you tomorrow...

Lol!  I use artistic license in all my painting. Nice work so far

Nice finish on the Skynight, it's amazing what you can do when you really want to. Keep going with the Spirit Lostagain, I can't help thinking that's a brave choice. Cheers Tony

So nearly four hours of cutting out and cleaning up, not because there are a lot of pieces, but because the sprue gates are poorly placed. could do a bit of early gluing.

Then first visit to the paint shop

And we're up to nearly six hours

And we are done!

That clear canopy glue should be dry shortly.

Thanks, Buddy. This was a fun one.

That's sweet! Great job

Got it G.  Thank you for joining in.

I think that's all of the builders that started Round One. Round Two starts Thursday.

I'm checking my stash and my schedule when I get home tonight, I may have to do a rematch and beat this challenge.  Big Smile

I finished around 8.45 this morning, just shy of 48 hours.

I guess starboard side, from the front.

Looks great G!  What time did you finish and which pic would like for the front page?

11.30 pm. Decals on except for the tail. I only just noticed that the rudder is white on the one I'm doing. Seemed to be worth repainting.

Finish up tomorrow before 9.00 am.

10.00 pm Monday:

I sprayed the white primer, but then because of rain and other commitments ran out of daylight. So she's being painted by hand on the bench.

I had forgotten how much I enjoy a quiet session with a good brush.

11 hours to go. Decals next.

Wow!  Look at all the fine work I missed while I was out of town all week!  I just spent the last hour getting caught up on all the completed and in progress builds!

Congrats to Mr. Stecks, Sailing_Dutchman, Shamoo, Griffin25, modelcrazy, Scottrc, SteveCP, taxtp and Eagle90 on their excellent completed builds!

I just got back home yesterday so I'll be in Round 2 this weekend.  I'll probably post a couple of pre-build pics later this week....sort of to get me into the mood!

Sorry I couldn't get in the mix this time around. I had 4 days off and the wife figured this was a "GREAT" time to get me to do her "TO DO " list.

( I did get to stare at my shop for a moment or two.)

I'll try again this weekend.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Tony,

The MP turned out great!  Which pic would you like for the front page?

I think we have just one more build in the works for Round One. How's it going G?

Round Two starts Thursday!  I think I'll do something simple, a 1/72 Dragon HMMWV.  Who's with me?
