So many cool builds to comment on!  Great work guys!

Shamoo - The Wildcat came out great.  I like that color scheme, but not as much as the pre-war yellow wings.  Big Smile

Griffin25 - Love the armor kit.  You guys are really making me want to try one.

scottrc - Great work on the Corsair.  Sorry about the yellow paint problem.  But the bird looks fine without it!

Eagle90 - Beautiful birds.  The fact that you did two planes, with totally different paint schemes, and they came out that nice...  wow! Yes

Tony - The figure looks first rate!  I'm terrified of figures and am envious of you guys that do such great work... and in this kind of timeframe!  Just painting a figure would have impressed me, but doing a major conversion AND making a nice base for it!  Dang!  Bow Down

MC - The Agressor is very cool.  Always loved the lines of that plane, and your paint job makes it even better.  Hope you feel better soon!

Cheers, Mark

Thank you sir!  The kits were quick and easy...I like to do more on the painting since there is not much detail.  I have a theme going her with desert camo what if's.  LOL!

Tony,

The figure is looking good. You're getting better each time I see one.

Gmorrison,

How you doing?

Steve,

That F-5 is the bee's knees.  Congratulations, which pic would you like for the front page.

Eagle,

Your word will do.  Next time, please post at least start and finish pics with times.  This is a one time allowance.  Back to the lighter side. We had several of the 328's at a make and take. I think the kids were done with them in like 10 minutes. Which pics would you like for the front page?

To anyone else building for Round One, keep up the good work and good luck.

My deepest apologies sir.  It was late and I forgot to take the time pic..both times.  It won't happen again.  Embarrassed

Your choice GB master!  LOL!

Again, thanks for hosting a great GB!  I do look forward to them every year!

Thank you Lubud and mark.

The last pic if you please.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Lewbud,

Seemed Imageshack was down and was why the pictures didn't show.  The one you picked is fine, but it was somehow linked to my Google account, so it could dissapear.

Murphy seemed to still haunt me on this build.

Steve, great job, hey, you finished!

I think next time, I will build like I was in Jr High, and make sure there is plenty of Mountain Drew, a large pizza, and fire up the Atari for an all night build session.

I finished the Hellcat.  Strictly speaking, I was 7 minutes late, but the drop tank wouldn't stay put.  Super glue solved that.

Ready to paint.

Flying!!

Aluminum base coat.

Dark blue drying

All the pieces on.

And done!  This is actually the first kit I've finished in several years.  Thanks for the push.Big Smile

It has that junior high look also.  Sigh.  I'll get better at it.

I think your Hellcat turned out great.  Doesn't look "junior high" to me, but I understand.  We're all our own worst critics.  Smile

Cheers, Mark

I'm done, this is a quick update before bed. Finished about 9 hours before the deadline, but only one nights sleep in that.

Im fairly happy with it, my first figure conversion, albeit a minor one. Happy with the base too.

Cheers

Tony

Very nice! That was a great conversion. Nice base as well

There's a bit over 12 hours to go, including a night's sleep. I've got this far, happy with the base, happy with the body, but I haven't started painting the face. Hope it works out first time.

Cheers

Man, there are some really great builds happening here.  Cool subjects.

So.....I have been checking all day to see any comments on my "finished" kits...to finally realize I FORGOT to post the bloody pics last night!!!!  Embarrassed  How embarassing!  I finished last night, happy I made the deadline, and went to sleep!  Sorry everyone.

So here are the finished kits.  Like stated before, they have no cockpits, no detail, and the decals are the pits, but they are fun to do and perfect for the Weekend Madness GB.

First, we have the Me-328.  I had some nice comments on my entry from last year with the desert camo.  So I figured I'd try another desert camo.

Then we have the Yak-15.  I stayed with the red paint job like on the box...I thought it was cool.  LOL!

Thanks for looking!

You got 2 done? Show off Wink Awesome job on both Yes

LOL!  Thank you sir..but they are small and NO detail at all on them.  Spent more time on the painting then I did on building both of them.  LOL!

Eagle,

You got any pics with an end time?

Man, I don't I'm sorry.  It started late on the 24th (around 2340), and I finished last night (very early this morning) around 0130 26th.  That help?

Sorry

OK Lewbud,

I just finished the Aggressor. It was a simple kit and the build didn't work out like I wanted but I got something done. I have been feeling terrible since Wednesday and am still not doing well but need to get to bed so I can get to work in the morning.

Thank you again Lewbud for hosting and maybe next year I'll put out a better show.

Wheels up and I need to make a stand for it...later.

Congratulations to everyone who has finished. It takes some determination and tenacity to get this GB done.

I've still got just under 20 hours to go. I spent time this morning doing the light and  shading on the uniform, and I've started painting the webbing and anklets. I also sprayed the base grey. but I forgot to photograph it, so I'll post progress on that next time.

Cheers

Tony
