Can I get in on this? Monogram F-106
Ok no worries, scratch the F-9 for now, will come up with something later
Theuns
68GT Looks like the Spad is out MC.
Looks like the Spad is out MC.
NP I probably wouldn't have gotten to it anyway.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Box and innards.
On Ed's bench, ???
Looking good Retired.
Spads were bombers...pilot dropped the little ones via mark 1 eyeball, when they weren't avoiding Fokkers
Though that was more reserved for the early WSO in the back seat of any of the 2 seaters.
Nice work on the panel RIK. That's gotta be a tough build. I built a lot of Frog kits as a kid, and then a couple in the last five years or so. They seem very basic and poor fitting now. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
About a week ago the US Navy scrambled some Hornets after some Tupolev 95s heading in the direction of the USS Ronald Reagan. Japan also scambled F-2A, F-4 and F-15 aircraft.
Boy, you guys are really makeing it hard for me.
I guess you could say a Spad could have been an early interceptor.
This is from Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interceptor_aircraft
interceptor, is a type of fighter aircraft designed specifically to attack enemy aircraft,
So an interceptor would not be loaded with bombs for a ground attack. It doesn't mean it couldnt bomb something though if it was loaded.
68,
I was looking for the F-5 in the stash, which I found, but also ran across a WW1 Spad. Whould that qualify?
Not sure on the Panther. Werent they primarily designed for ground attack? I know there were some air combat wins but I think they would only accept air to ground rockets and bombs.
If someone can come up with something on the Panther as an interceptor let me know.
I would like to throw my hat into the ring with Monogram 5859 F4-C Phantom.
I have a 1/48 Trump F-9f panther, will it work?
I can onlt start in Jan anyway, busy with builds for MOY.
Roster updated!
Pencle me in please, I am not sure what yet
I’ll be original as a +3 on the instrument panel.
69GT that looks good. That’s the scheme I plan on as well. Hope mine comes out that nice.
Dave
X2 on that IP, nicely done from scratch.
I really like the looks of that instrument panel. I would probably go blind trying to build that.
Built this F-82 a while ago and it served the all weather interceptor role.
Cool! Put me down for the Monogram F-82. I’m going to order a photoetch are for the cockpit and I’ve got a couple to finish up ahead of it but I should get started before the end of the year.
Thanks 68.
If that didn't work I also have an F-16 and F14 both in 1/144, but both of those can/could carry bombs. I guess the F-5 could as well but it seemed more like an intercepter.
MC - what ever you have when you have the time. I know that F-5 play an interceptor role in a few countries.
Thats a yes on the F-82s
The first F-82F models began to reach operational ADC squadrons in September 1948. By the end of September, ADC had 29 F-82Fs. By the middle of 1949 the F-82 was replacing Black Widows in service with Air Defense Command along the west coast at Hamilton AFB, California (317th FIS) and McChord AFB, Washington (318th FIS, 319th FIS). East coast defense was the mission of the Twin Mustangs assigned to McGuire AFB, New Jersey (2d FIS, 5th FIS).
goldhammerHunter- that is going to look awesome when finished, soaring through the clouds like that.
GH,
Thank you very much for the kind words sir...I am in the process of tweeking it alittle, two wiser modelers gave me sound advice on the color of the base. So I am redoing that.

Would a North American F-82 all-weather/ night fighter qualify as an interceptor?
Let me see what I've got, maybe a 1/144 F-5? I have a few things going on right now and not sure of my short term building future but I'll get to it if/when I can.

Retired- nice start on it, more guts than I'd have to paint the instruments.
68- good start as well.
Got a start on the office on the Eagle, pics when It gets painted. Also ordered the clear acrylic rod to hang her in flight from the exhaust.
Nice, something I was doing a while back was scaling down a photo and glueing that in. I stoped for some reason but it worked well.
Thats a cool idea for an in flight display!
Well, I am almost done....I finished masking off and dry fitting some small details before I paint. I will be painting today and applying the decals tomorrow.
See ya soon....
