I got alittle more done today...painted the pilot, installed the landing gear and canopy. I plan on completing it tomorrow or Saturday morning. Take it easy on me...I'm still trying to perfect my figure painting LOL Confused

I am going to mask off the canopy tonight...giving the glue time to fully cure.

I'll echo taxtp, nice quick start on that one.

Thanks, hope to it justice since it came from friends, and I live in the state.  I think it may end up at the Veteran's Home here in town, if it turns out well enough

GH...I have no doubt you are going to do a steller job on your build. That's a great idea to donate it to the Veteran's home.

Nice job on the 190 Hunter. I've got the same kit in the queue at the moment, hopefully I'll get to it in January. I like the modern Airfix kits, they have a nice 'feel' to them. Cheers Tony

Thank you taxtp,

I have really enjoyed this kit so far. I have had some fit issues, but nothing out of line. I will definitely purchase more AirFix kits.

Here are the obligated before pics with the box art and contents.

More decals than I care to count.  Markings are for the 75th Anniversary of the Oregon ANG, Bird is/was based at Kingsley Field, Klamath Falls, Oregon.  Will get it washed up Sunday, and start painting next week.  Will be done OOB, and in flight

Kit was given to me as a thank you for giving my mining claim partner's daughter a kids metal detector I won in a raffle.  She picked it out, has good taste for 7-8 years old.

GH,

I am really looking froward to this one...I have one similar in the stash. I look forward to seeing what you do with her. Enjoy

Hello all,

Good looking GB so far....I am building the AirFix 1:72 Fw 190 F-8. I will be doing the winter camo scheme. Sadly this is going to be a OOB build.

The pit...not too much to this one

Going to let it dry for a few hours and then apply putty and primer coat. This was my first AirFix kit and had fit issues with most of the pieces so far. A lot of sanding to add in the fitting of parts. Over all I am pleased with this kit and will definitely purchase another AirFix kit.

Thanks again 68GT for hosting this GB

It might run longer but the end of June would be the minimum.

Nice, I've actually never seen those markings before.

WhenI was in HL getting the paint for it, they had them on the shelf.  2017 date on box.  Copyright date of 1979 on fuselage, molded in China.

The tail fin decals are a thing of beauty, both inners and outers.

OH GT you have started something to give me a kick in the Censored. Put me down for 1/48 F-106 Revell boxed classic Monogram kit lol. I will be doing it in California ANG colors. I saw one at an airshow at Mather AFB back in the 80's. So, going to build one hehehe. Cannot for the life of me find a pic that I or my brother might have taken of it though, so will be whatever comes on the decal sheet.Eats

I'm starting with a Revell F-8E in 1/72 scale.  It's going to be straight out of the box but might use some Hasegawa decals intead of what came with the kit.  It came as a set to the F-4B I have in the Monogram GB.

Would like to join in with the Revell 1/48 F-15C, in Oregon ANG "Eagle" markings, based out of Kingsley Field, Klamath Falls.  Oregon Guard primary role as I understand is interception off the NW coast.

Timmy, according to Wikipedia the F-61 was used as a long range, all weather day/night interceptor after the war.  One could argue that it also did this during WWII also. Sounds good

Ok if the P-61 work's for the group build, please take a look at my WIP build { P-61 the slo-poke build} in the aircraft forum and let me know if it's too far along to qualify.

If so I can find another kit to build here.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"
