Eagle 90... No unfortunately I didn't. There are some cool stories about Willow Run, Old Henry Ford despised the Mayor of Detroit, (among many others) and didn't want to have to pay taxes in two different counties being when the factory was being built part of it was going to have to extend into Wayne county, (Detroit is in Wayne county) and the Mayor thought he had ole Henry by the shorts, and he was going to milk him for taxes. Well, Henry Ford's plan was to build the B24 Like a car on an assy line. When the factory was at the stage where it was going to extend into Wayne county, Henry got the last laugh. He actually had the factory designed to make a 90deg turn at that end which kept it just over the line and out of the Mayors county! The way he got 2 completed air craft, at the end of the contract, the dept of the Army claimed the last 2 aircraft that were done, but refused to pay for the ones that were not yet complete. Well, Ford's book keepers told him that the last two completed units had not been paid for yet. He refused to surrender them to the Army which pissed them off, but when they checked, they found that they weren't yet paid for. They laid claim to them but refused to pay. After a lengthy court battle Henry won and was allowed to keep them. Well long and short of it is, they turned it into a museum until (I believe) a lightning strike set it afire and destroyed the entire site,.
Sorry for being so long winded , but I've always got a kick out of the story. Again, great build and take care!
