OK, I'm ready now. I received this from my wife today. Luckly I put the PE inside the box before I left Boise. It will probably be a couple months till I get to it though.

I'm going to do Sub-Lt Tony Beale's Ark Royal Bismark attack scheme. Beale's torpedo struck the Bismark admidships port side, which hit the torpedo belt and reportaliy did little damage.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I built this little kit some time ago and got another one to see if I can make it better by enhancing the cockpit with some creative painting.

The red colour is the inside of the doped linnen. I rebuilt a left bottom wing for a Tigermoth last year at work and found some of this red/brown linnen on the aileron bellcrank box....might even have been from WW2 :-)

I also added straps from lead foil.

He he he

I took no offences at anything said apart from the word "colonies".

However, more to the point, 39 hours to go till we can get our builds on!

Yes, my error, i should have said 'and Dominions'

Useing Kiritimati time, which of course is also a member, we have just under 35 hours to go. So better than you thought.

We could always reenact the French Revolution and put All the Royals to the gallows...

I still don't have my decals for my build, but the speed  I build that shouldn't be a problem.

Well, the UK had to send 250,000 troops here to SA to come put down the "silly little uprising" when the Boers decided they wanted to rather keep their own gold , here they were met by the best horseback mounted marksmen and the African climate didnt help the UK troops either ;-)

The empire was never the same after that LOL

I had two great grandfather who became "guests" of her magesty on St Helena. My Grand Parents were bitter about it for the decades after...when my dad brought home "rooi nek" (afrikaans for red neck - slang for british) girl it was unheard of! Lucky for me I grew up afrikaans and english so have the best of both worlds and even as a "half blood" became the grand parient's fav LOL

Well they sent 10s of thousand to Australia in the 18th century which they couldnt wait to see the back of, know we cant get rid of them out of the country quick enough...

But enough pom bashing, let us focus on the build off!

No offence intended Bish.

Okay, so I’ve finally gotten underway on the Hawk 200, and I just have to say, “What the hell, Matchbox?!” If you look at the enclosed photos, you’ll notice the right fuselage half has alignment pins to fit it to the left half of the fuselage; a good number of them actually, seven in all.  That’s quite sufficient for such a small plane.  However, if you look at the left fuselage half, you’ll notice there are NO alignment holes to match to the pins!  Not a single one.  Is this some kind of sick joke or what?

Hey! If it's alright, I'll join with Airfix's 1/72 Folland Gnat T.1, British markings. I might also build a Matchbox 1/72 Folland Gnat from the Pakistani airforce later, but I'm not sure yet SmileFolland Gnat

Since we have our host's blessing and he is only 8 hours ahead, got started on painting the interior of fuse and pit.  Pics coming as I progress, pretty bare inside, as fitting for a 60's Revell.
