Looking sharp with those tiny details
Nick.
Jack your attention to detail and the skill involved is incredible. Bravo. You might be crazy because it's crazy good!

Dwayne, great looking work there, particularly the engine - reminds me what I have to look forward on my build.
--------------------
So got the generators and fuel pump made out of brass rods. Various diameters cut into different lengths and slide fitting them into one another. Some sanding too to obtain smooth curves. White plastic sheet cut to form the fairings and attachment points to the wings:
1. - 12 volt generator
2. - fuel pump
3. - radio generator
Up next will be the Hythe gun camera and upper wing details....
regards,
Jack
Hey LA,
No, I wasn't planning to take the Buffalo to the con. I will be bringing a 1/72 Bf-109 I finished in October, and a T-34 I finshed in 2017. The 109 will be in the Out of Box category. I wasn't planning to enter anything, but a fellow IPMS local member encouraged me to enter.
Still plugging away on the Buffalo, but not enough progress worth posting pics yet.
Dwayne or Dman or just D. All comments are welcome on my builds.
Zvezda,
The Spit is looking great. I am looking forward to seeing it finished and in its setting.
Dwayne,
Is the Brewster planned to make an appearance at Noreastcon? Not much time left...
Thanks guys. I really appreciate all the kind comments. Going to try to stay focused and keep working on this bird.
My local IPMS chapter has a convention next weekend, so that should be fun and help with motivation. Noreastcon 2019, the 48th year the convention has been held.
I will be entering two kits with absolutely no expectation of getting an award. Hoping to get some bargains for the stash, though.
Looking good Dwayne that engine well done..
Dwayne that engine looks sweet!
Looking good, Dwayne. And I have to agree with the others, the engine will look great inside that cowl.

Thank you Clif and Dwayne.
@Zvezda,
The camo pattern turn out great on that Spit!
Well lets hope you don't have to wait much longer Jack.
Jack: I will echo what has already been said...your eye for detail is incredible!
Zvezda: Your bird is looking sharp! Safe travels!
Jack: That detail work is incredible!
Zvezda: The camo looks perfect!
Thank you Nick and Bish.
Thanks also for the reminder of the time left in our GB. I hope to get at least all the construction done by then. I drew up some stencil work and sent out to be custom printed into decal form (back in December) but still waiting
Sopme more very nice detail there jack, looking very nice.
Quick reminder, we have 29 days left to run on this GB. But as always please don't rush to meet a deadline, carry on posting even when the GB is officially over.
Zvezda, the Spit is coming on nicely anbd i do like the look of those trees. Can't wait to see this done.
zvezda very colorful spitfire looking good.
jack that PE is awesome you Do have an eye for detail.
Zvezda, thank you.
Between the palm trees and the Spitfire, that is going to be quite a colourful scene. Nice lay of paint on the main colours.
Slovenia! I've been there a few times visiting relatives.
Very fast update: Camouflage colors were sprayed after the pattern was masked with Tamiya tape.
I am off for a business trip to Slovenia early morning, will be back Friday and I hope to make some better progress then.
Jack: Outstanding! Workshop quality detail.
Thank you Steve and Bruce.
Next up, I will tackle the wind driven generators. The aircraft should be equipped with three of these, but the Matchbox kit only supplies one.
modelcrazy Jack, Your work never ceases to amaze me.
Jack,
Your work never ceases to amaze me.
I have to agree, absolutely amazing detail!
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Bit more detail work ...
Drilled out some oblong access holes on the wheel covers. I noticed on period photos that, at certain angles, there can be seen a singular spoke, so added a wire.
Before fixing the cabane struts underneath the cowl, have added some tubes across the width. These will be the entry points for the rigging afterwards.
The Brengun PE gun ring sight arrived in the mail, so have added that detail. This was so delicate that I decided to redo the stands that supported it, as well as those on the Aldis gun scope, just to keep things looking in scale.
The tree looks realistic, I like the method you used, and I'm looking forward to seeing the finish tree.
lostagain Hogfants, the printing does look cool, good to hear your feedback after the fine nozzle is used. What software do you design the piece with?

@lostagain,
I used Siemens PLM NX10 to design the part. As soon as he has time to run the new print, I'll post the pictures. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
lostagainSteve, great work with the Stringbag, the paint finish is super. Like many of us, I have the same kit in the stash, do you recommend the PE rigging set? It looks like it a good rendition of the flat strap style rigging.
Absolutly, you can't go wrong.
I'd love to try another on now that I know the pitfalls.
