Nick,

That Hunter is looking great!

Lost,

That is one colorful Wessex.

As for the Mapleleaf Mustang, it is done. I will tell that I cussed you guys a little bit for jinxing me the other day when I was putting the upper starboard set of pinstripes on. As I was pulling them off the backing paper they got all twisted up and tangled and I had to use the spare set. The rest went on without a hitch.

Now for the Sea Hawk.

John many thanks i did find another use for BMF and it’s for canopies for the wind shield with 3 coats of paint and BMF came off with very little fuss. Maybe I got lucky the first time the real test will be a b24d cockpit and nose in 1/72

That looks great Bruce! Sorry to hear about the lost parts but the IP looks fine even down to the weird green colour MiG used.

Gentlemen,

A quick update on the MiG-21, I have the IP complete and have added some PE to the rear wheel well. The engine has PE added and has been partially assembled. I hope to shoot some paint this weekend and make some progress.

I'm in the process of finishing my basement, and while clearing everything out of the basement, I lost a couple pieces to the IP. I will attempt to scratch the missing pieces. And due to the new project, I'll do my best to have this complete before the end of April. Thanks for looking.

@Zvezda,

Fantastic work with the PE! It really dresses up that cockpit.

@Nick,

I'm looking forward to seeing your Hunter finished. Superb job on this really slick looking aircraft.

@lostagain,

The Wessex really good with the declas applied. It really makes the paint job on this "pop"!

Hello again all, I really should report in more often - so much has happened with everyone else's builds.

Jack, again a thing of beauty being produced at your hands. Frightening to realise that is a 1/72 Siskin, at first I thought it had to be way bigger. And I like the custom markings too.

Griff the Hunter and base both look great. The shading has come up very well. The crew are great, really well painted and looking very natural in the setting (nice sunnies!). A bit of grass there breaks it up nicely too.

Nick, nasty case of worms there, your bird needs some tablets.... Your touch on the painting has given subtle panel variation, very nice. Looking great with teh weathering down too, not long to go.

Lewbud, smashing it out weekend style, respect! The Maple Mustang is coming up a treat, great work on those pinstripes, you've got it covered.

Zvezda, nice work on the "not a hurricane, the other one", that Eduard detail set really adds a lot to the cockpit.

With the Wessex I have got the decals on, it is starting to look the part:

So it is coming along okay. There will be minimal weathering on this one.

Thanks for all the kind words about the stripes. I still have three sets to go so there's plenty of opportunities to muck it up yet. Fortunately, there are spares.

Zvezda, nice work on the Spit's pit!

Lewbud: Yeah, those pin stripes came out perfect! So easy to get them broken or wrapped over themselvies.

Zvezda: Great job there on the cockpit, the PE looks fantastic!

I admit that this Spit seemed very appetising, so I dipped my finger in the pie, a day before my 'official' enlistment in the Group.

Thus, yesterday, I did some cockpit works.

A nice PE set from Eduard was available in the stash (including nice unpainted seat harness)

and it was used to bring some extra detail to this area

The IP was painted black and details were added by dry brush, pencil, etc

Finally the assemblies were sprayed with Tamiya's acrylic interior green and after a while, shaded with some dry pastels.

My lastest pics after oil wash and a light coat of Tamiya flat clear to give a semi gloss look

Nick,

The Hunter looks outstanding! I love how you do such a great job on the weathering.

lewbud, that's one of the prettiest Mustangs I have seen. And it's obvious these strips are a razor's edge job. I got nervous just by thinking of them being applied.

Ditto!

I have to agree, a thin decal makes me very nervous. Great job!

Hello Bish

Aknowledging it is rather late, I would also like to join this glorious GB. My kit of choice, will be the following:

My intention is to build this aircraft of 244 Wing, as operating from Goubrine, Tunisia in 1943

I had read that the batch of this plane was first delivered to Takoradi (nowdays Ghana), prepared and then flown to the North African front. Since I had been working for quite sometime in (and still occasionally visit) Takoradi, there is a personnal interest and if there is time, I will try to place it in a small diorama.

Thanks Bish and Gamera.

I was able to add a few more decals before leaving for work. I've never been so nervous doing decals before. I think I dislike pinstripe decals more than I dislike masking invasion stripes. Still three more sets of the pinstripes to go.
