Thank you sir. I’m glad I posted this photo. After seeing it I realized I forgot the white unit stripe at the rear of the fuselage! Glad I caught that before I started weathering.

Eagle90 Bish Bobby, nice to see you got to grips with that wing. Going to have to be careful with that.I have the Alley cat resin engines so hopefully might not have that issue. You should be fine Bish. I don't see where the engines come in to play with this at all. It took a bit of work, but we got it straightened out.

Ok, i am not sure if the resin engine's completly replace the wing edge where it joins to the fuselage, but if the problem is wioth the fuselage, it won't effect it.
Ready for gloss and decals then it’s on to some dusty Mediterranean weathering.
The Nimrod looks nice despite the gap!
Svenne Duva Right, I am sorry - I just could not resist a 50% discount... Wish I had though :| Look at that distorted wing to body assembly: I thought worst case it could be a painting excercise but is it even worth that effort?

That don't look good. Can it not be sanded down?
Mopar Madness Yeah, those old tool Harriers are pretty rough. Hopefully we’ll get a new tooled 1/48 scale Harrier soon.

Most of the Harrier family has been done in 1/48 new tool kits. Between Hasegawa and Kitty Hawk, nearly all version have been covered. Except for the early AV-8B, than AV-8A & C, and the GR.1 & GR.3. And the Monogram AV-8A & AV-8B kits are the best of the older Harriers. Far better than the Airfix & Tamiya offerings. (What?! Monogram better than Tamiya? Yes, just like the 1/48 F-15 and A-10 too.)

Now that would have been cool to see. I was in Desert Shield/Storm and went back to the Middle East 5 times and never got to see a Nimrod. But I'm partial to anything Desert Storm/Middle East, so I'm going to do it up as the one stationed in Saudi.
Thanks again!
Nick.
Man, this is such a great GB!! Loving the builds!!
Here are a couple of progress pics of the Nimrod. It is a nice kit for sure. The only issue I have had was the mating of the wing assembly to the fuselage. It was really weird. One side fit almost perfectly and the other...well, I'm not sure what is going on there. No matter what I did, it just would not mate up. There was a huge space that no matter how much plastic I surgically removed, it just would not go down. I doctored it up and it's better and should look fine after painting and all, but man was that weird. Anyway, I got the grey under side painted and now need to mask it off for the Hemp on the top. Nice build all around.
Here's that "gap" I mentioned.
Be right back with the other stuff in line:
1/72 Typhoone - up for stencils (lost the original set)
1/48 Sea Hurricane - up for initial paint work
1/48 Sea Fury - can't get my head arround the colors in the pit...
1/48 P-40 - about to close the main frame (not even Sir Sidney, I am so loosing it...)
1/48 Harrier - live or let die
1/24 Typhoone - still watching the sprues for yet some time...
You guys are doing great - this is great fun thanks to you guys!
Very Best RegardsSvenne

That’s going to look really nice with a smooth metal finish!
Well, the A-26 and its bits and pieces are primed today. It'll sit for a couple of days while the primer cures then I'll lightly wet sand the primer, fix any divots then shoot it with Alclad Aluminum.
OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
That looks good Jack and like your base idea.
The Sea Fury and The Clipper both came out looking very nice! I am sorry guys I started a new job about 60 days ago and have had very little bench time. I have completed the paint and decals for the Tomcat. The decals were very brittle and required quite a bit of paint touchups but I think they look ok. I am completeing the AIM missiles and base and just need to add dulcoat to the aircraft at this point. I have decided the base will have the VF-1 logo in some form and will check back with completed pics shortly.
The CH kit comes with the option of folding rotors and tail and the Eduard PE set does add some detail. Not sure yet if i am doing that.
You do have the option to show the rotors and the tail section stowed. However, I think I’m gonna go for simplicity on this one so everything will be in a ready position. I’m sure there are some really nice aftermarket sets out there for the Airfix and CH kits if you want to show the tail and rotors in a stowed position.
The 109 is coming along nicely.
Be nice to see that Chad. I'd like to add this as to the HC.4. So i take it you get that option with the rotors.
Really nice Sea Fury. Well done. I'm a big fan of that aircraft. Progress on the BP Defiant. I airbrushed the under belly. Hope to put the rest of the cammo on tomorrow.
Thanks,
John
Nice chopper
Bish, I’ve had this little guy in mind for a while. Now that the E7 is wrapping up I’m going to get a jump on my next Airfix build. I’ve never built a helicopter so I thought I’d give an honest go at the 1/72 Westland Sea King HAR.3. The only question is, stored or open rotors. Looks to be a straightforward build.
The E7 is ready for the booth. I’m a bit spoiled by the Eduard series of 109’s, but these aren’t bad at all. A few minor fit issues with small parts due to the typically soft thick Airfix plastic but nothing that a little sanding wouldn’t fix.
TJ, jack and Mark thanks for watching
I never thought that that old Clipper kit would garner so much attention.
Thanks, y'all...
Frank, Nick, 2 very nice looking builds there. 2 subjects we don't see and they have come out great. Thanks for shareing those, the front page has been updated.
