Captains, you have until the end of July to list any ships you want to enter.

You still have as long as you need to conplete them.

Calling all Japanese Captains. The Japanese Flag GB is about to begin....BANZAI!!!!!

And here I thought the Revell boat was big at just under 4 1/2'.....  1/48 works out around at 6 1/2'.  Better have a long fireplace mantle for her.

oh yeah! Not sure what I'll do but as always I end up worrying about it later... except in this case i have to figure out where to build her Blind Fold

ive started a 'fund', saving money to get started. Just need to finish my SS gift and my wife's gift and then the Balao class boat is up. Yesterday i got anothtable for my work room in hopes that it will help. Also selling off alot of the stash at a local meet this month to help with space and money. Can you tell I'm actually fixated on getting this done lol

she's  hidden way under here right now...

just picked that Blue Devil. Going to do a then vs now build next year as i still have the one i did when i was 9 Pirate

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Steve,

I haven't forgotten about this, but I need to switch out models.  The CCB suffers from a lack of information that I can lay my hands on.

Put me down for a 1/144 scale Trumpeter USS Gato 1941.  Should be a challenge.  Big Smile

Pampanito, yes!

I've been aboard several times, inc. for breakfast in the ward "room" (closet), she narrowly escaped getting burned up.

Bill

Been on her a few times myself. I Lived in Vallejo, Sabastopol and Santa Rosa for a few years after I retired from the Coast Guard.

1/48 Balo! That's huge Chris!

Yeah, I put you down.

Ok, I'm committed to another one Cool I've been getting grief for years about building the sub in my stash...so I promised my wife the other night (damn bourbon) that after my 2 F-5's the rocket she got me for Christmas, and my SS group build gift that out comes the sub. And it'll be a true ship type build taking an extended time. Probably won't start till late summer.

ModelCrazy if after you read this it fits the GB then...Sign me up for The Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub!

Not sure about which sub to do. My wife and I love the movie Down Periscope and it has great nose art (no name for it on a sub as of course it's never been done so we'll have to settle for the aircraft term). I have photo's of the Pamponito out in San Francisco I took many years ago and I have the book

USS Pampanito

On Deck Color Series Nr. 5604

the detail set for it from Scale Shipyard PLUS it will be a true sub...and submerge. Definitely a huge goal lol what did that Bourbon get me into, ei yi yi

Some more updated pics of my WIP.

Hoping to have her wrapped up by the end of December. Then will either be starting on my Secret Santa model, or the new Bismarck.

The PE detail up set for my NC is pretty extensive and has been testing (and improving) my PE skills. Here is a pic of one of the cranes and a catapult I have been working on.

Hey guys! Im still around and still working on the NC. Made some good progress. Sorry for the lack of pictures on here. Life has been super crazy lately and now the holidays. But non the less finding an hour here or there to work on the NC.

The new pics will be quite a jump in progress from the last ones i posted. I will work on getting those up in the next day or 2.

Hope everyone is doing well!

As much trouble you had with it, it really turned out great BK. Fantastic job on all the AC. I have that kit in the stash and was thinking of selling it but now look forward to building it.

I', glad you hung in there and finished it since you have so much on your plate. I'll get it up and make a ribbon up for you tonight.

Sure looks good BK! Especially like the helo rotors. Nice job on those details!

Thanks buddy. I appreciate the kind words. This is a 3 footer. Any closer and the glue for the PE shows up and the little blems are many. But, at 3 feet she looks pretty good.

GMorrison
Im hoping your assault ship didnt have deck decals on it.

All the work on the deck is airbrushed with the exception of the small numbers, those are decals, all the rest is paint.

At this point my nerves can't take anymore and I'm calling this one done. I would love to do one of these in 1/350, but not another one at 1/700. I got it cased up and on display before I remembered to take final pics. Here they are.

Steve, thanks for allowing my to tag along. This was fun for my first ship. I will definately do others, just bigger.

very nice , the PE added a lot . looking forward to seeing it painted .

Thanks, that PE just about did me in. That was a huge chore. I'm not a fan of this scale and have no plans to work in this scale again. 1/350 or bigger from now on.

BK

Ship models often need a lot more hand brush work than other types, except maybe figures.

Im hoping your assault ship didnt have deck decals on it.
