She'll be able to run laps around you now Art. So glad to hear.

The Fig 7 is almost there.

After several coats of acrylic varnish to add some depth, I added the final cotton.

Using very small pieces, I added the cotton to the base using the varnish.

After everything has dried. Notice the one of the 3D crew (not painted) leaning up against the superstructure. Next is to add some of these guys, repair the flight deck netting, add the rigid hull inflatable and helo. Oh yeah, I also broke one of the HF antennas with the airbrush, so that needs to be remedied Huh?

Here's a sneak peek of the 262. These birds had an interesting livery. They had a hard edged wavy camouflage and a light sporadic mottling applied in the field.  After I wrap this one up I have a British ship in the queue. There's no such thing as consistency on my workbench!

Very nice Chad. The Swallow had some very cool camo.

That water base is incredible!  Stick out tongue

Well done on that ME camo!

Still plodding along on my Leopard, but no photographic evidence at this time.

MC and MM....nice work guys. Almost got them whipped.

After our meeting and dinner yesterday, and some beach time, got the rest of the office bits in, the wing together and the engine.  Hopefully get that painted later this coming week and detailed and decaled.  Pics to follow that.

I snappen a quick picture of the mocked up tank.

I would guess that construction is 85% done, I just need to make the time to pick up a rattle can of Tamiya NATO green at the LHS, but actual painting may not happen until it warms up outside.  I may just handbrush it with my Vallejo NATO green primer.  Still debating the merits of both ways.

Lastly, here are the tracks, indie links. The roadwheels and sprockets have a polycap, si I believe these are workable.  Not that I will be playing with them since all that holds it together is a small plastic pin and a vinyl-like link!

Robert, that tank looks to be coming along nicely. Just go outside and paint it, even if it's cold, there are tons of cats around and you're wearing static generating clothing, it'll be fine. Wink

This is all I have left, the crew, helo and RHIB. I'm swamped working and going to real estate school at the moment so I only get about an hour or less to do anything. At the moment I'm painting the crew. I do need to make an officer or 2 though.

PSA for everyone working with indie links: MAKE SURE YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE ASSEMBLING!

I have 34 links like those on the left, solidly glued together, upside down and with the tooth in the wrong spot, before glancing at the directions, uttering an expletive, and realizing they should look like those on the right.

Hope is not lost, I just have to plan on those 34 being (installed upside down) behind the sideskirts and out of view.  There is hope yet for this making an appearance at a show in April!

Chad, with a tiny brush LOL.

Robert - Oh snap!  I know the sickening feeling when the glue is dry and then you realize something is wrong!  GRRRRRR! Super Angry

Steve - A friend who has bought a couple of sets of Northstar 1/700 printed figures is still sorting out a way to paint them.

Good luck on your little men!

Yeah G, I have several little dude sets, including Northstar. The only way I know of is just one at a time, one color at a time. the faces and boots is where it gets tricky.

Hey everyone....sorry for the absence.  I had a bit of an accident at work (which resulted in a concussion and 6 staples in the head), so I have been out of it for some time.  But, I'm back and better then before!  They did a CT scan after the accident and I now have proof that I have a brain!!  LOL!

I got back to the bench yesterday and have done work on the 109.  Man, what a great kit!  I couldn't be happier with the SS gift and how it is turning out!  I did some painting and decals yesterday and it is looking good!  I will take and post some pics today.

Great work on all the builds in the GB!!!  Man, what inspiration!

Hey everyone....sorry for the absence.  I had a bit of an accident at work

I'm glad to here everything is alright with you and now you are gifted with super powers; that is how this works right? Good to have you back.

Steve, painting all those little guys does not thrill me in the least but it must be done and we both have to do those on our 1/700. We will have to have some drinks when we are done to settle our nerves. LOL

I have begun work on the Dicker Max once again now that I have cleared the bench of the Spits. I am building the tracks: that shoud take me a week or so as I don't want to get to aggitaged doing them. I'll post up pics when I have more to show.

Wow Eagle,  best wishes for you my friend.

Thank you sir.  I'm much better now.  It was an ordeal for a couple of weeks.  Work took good care of me but the concussion and staples were not a happy thing.  LOL!

Holy cow Eagle. 6 staples and a concussion in my book isn't classified as a "bit" of an accident! Indifferent So glad your back in action!

Good heavens, glad that turned out OK for you Eagle!

I have been continuing work on the tracks, this represents roughly 6 hours of work:

I'm doing them in runs of 17 to begin with, then will stick them together before painting.  I'm not sure of the structural integrity of the small plastic pins.

Reviews say each length needs 83 or 84 links, and they were kind enough to include 180.  This gives me some margin to replace some of my botched tracks with the leftovers, though the margin keeps shrinking as the carpet monster has fed on two teeth and one vinyl link piece!

I hope to be done in another 6 hours or so over a couple days!

Robert, I feel your pain on the tracks. My tracks have to be glued together, one link at a time and then on top of that they have to be run over the road wheels and sprockets in order to shape them. Because once they dry up there is no bending them. Fun stuff for sure.

I have the tracks completed. With this design I have to install the sprocket and idler wheel at the same time as the tracks since they are rigid and won't move any. I will paint the tank, wheels, etc seperately and then install the tracks and wheels when they are painted. Otherwise it would be too difficult to paint around everything and still make it look convincing. I will start making good progress now.

Great work everyone. Steve, your water is amazing and I will use your technique for my Bismark when I have enough space to display her.

I have finished my build of the F-35, but unfortunately my build progress pics have disappeared. All that I can find are this one of the sprues and one of the finished build.
