Looks great, Steve. Those benders are the bee's knees for sure.
BK
On the bench:
A lot !! And I mean A LOT!!
2024 Kits on deck / in process / completed
14 / 5 / 2
Excellent job on the ship, Steve. What kind of bender is that? I'm in the market for a smaller one than my (currently MIA) Hold N Fold.
I see the Bug, or whatever it's called, and some put out by Trumpeter at 2/3 the price.

Yeah, that's the one. They make smaller ones. She got it off Amazon.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Started putting glue (and paint!) to styrene on the Panzer IV.
Here's a shot of the sprues in box.
... and here's my progress so far on the road wheels.
Got my AK paint set for IJN colors. Only thing missing was the prop color and the instructions only call it out by "propeller color". Dropped off my lady at PDX today for a flight back to Baltimore for a week. Picked up a bottle of Tamiya lino brown and one of MM dunkel braun .....it looks close I think.
Can finally get started on her.
GH, "prop color" will typically mean brown, like a dirt brown or similar, on the back side and silver on the front.
Thanks MC. Will probably go with the dunkel braun on the backside then, after I double check what both look like dry
GH, I use the Mr color 131 prop color. Compared with various other browns I have the Tamiya XF-79 is the closest match. I spent many weeks researching the correct colors for my Zero so I'm comfortable with the prop color. I'm looking forward to seeing yours build up.

Thanks BK. No Mr color on hand, I'll check for the Tamiya.
Ah ha....lino brown. All set then.
I finally got to snipping and gluing last weekend...feels good to get back to it. There has been modest progress on the Leopard:
I've been kind of hopping around the instructions, as per my usual building methology. I think I shot myself in the foot with painting by installing the tow hooks already, but we'll see!
Here's is a quick shot of where I am with the Perry. Just the hull railing and the helo and it's done, well, and finish the flight deck. Then on to attaching the masts and the painting. I'm going to do the same process as I did with the Spruance, which BTW is waiting for the Perry to get done so I can complete the water at the same time.
She's looks the business Steve!

God, Family, Models...
At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
A quick update, I assembled the MEXAS armor that goes on the turret. Each side is two modules, and each module consists of 3 parts. Took some dry fitting and imagination with the first one, but afterwards they went smothly.
Got the cockpit bits done today. Fit and finish is typical Tamiya! I am doing this one completely 0TB so kit supplied seatbelt decals were used.
Nice start Robert.
Chad, your pit looks awsome.
I'm done with the PE, now on to the paint.
It looks like most of us are moving along with our builds.
Robert, I can't wait to see more of this one.
Chad, the pit looks amazing. Again, I can't wait to see more of this one.
Steve, that PE is incredible. You should send the pics to Eduard to use as their advertisement pics. It seems a shame to cover it with paint.
BrandonK Mach1 Started putting glue (and paint!) to styrene on the Panzer IV. Here's a shot of the sprues in box. ... and here's my progress so far on the road wheels. Ah yes, road wheels for days. I feel your pain. I'm gonna enjoy watching the Panzer come to life. BK

Thanks, BK.
I actually don't mind doing road wheels - although a Churchill or T-35 might be pushing it just a little.
Not a bad Idea BK,
Thanks guys, I applied the black base. Next I'll add the anit fouling red and boot top.
After black basing, I started spraying the hull and superstructure grey. I'll go over it again with a second, thinner coat next.
That tower!
Kinda stands out, don't it?
Another coat of the grey
and with a little white added to the base color for tonal variation.
That is looking seriously gorgeous Steve!
I got in some detail bits the other day:
Thanks Lewbud for the tip! I especially like the toothed belt in the supercharger kit, as it is always a detail I notice on well done models. And the Charger PE set has key holes and keys - wow! I realized I forgot to order PE wipers. Oh well, I need another supercharger pulley set for Mad Max's car anyway.
“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
Thanks G, wow, very cool.
Well done, Gents! Makes me wish I built more aircraft and ships.
Glad I could help Real G.
Steve,
That PE work is amazing. Perhaps you could arrange a summer road trip and bring it to the Nationals this year.
Chad,
That is a very nice pit.
Just got caught up with this build. I'll start on one of the kits for this after I finish the Shelf of Doom build Airfix Me-110 that is occupying the paint stand at the moment.
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
Neal, that Charger is gonna be EPIC!!
Steve, she is looking very nice with paint. This one is gonna look quite nice too.
lewbudThat PE work is amazing. Perhaps you could arrange a summer road trip and bring it to the Nationals this year.
Thanks Buddy, planning on the Nats in Vegs next year (we can drive that in 10 hours), not sure what I'll bring there. A few ships I would think.
A little more to the Perry. Painted the deck but needs another coat, darker, and some variations. After that, it's touch up.
I started work on the turret...and in the process made my first (and hopefully last) contribution to the carpet monster. There is a little pipe that sticks out behind the near hatch. I clipped it from the sprue and it took off like a rocket...no idea where after 45 minutes with an LED flashlight conducting a grid search of the floor.
Fortunately the piece was roughly the same diameter as the sprue so I just clipped a new pipe. I has a PE part that goes on top, so I'm not terribly concerned about the ad hoc replacement.
Hey Steve - I got roped into going to Vegas next year for the Nationals! Actually I made an idle promise that I figured would never come to be, but it did. We gotta get the FSM gang together for lunch or dinner! Deffo want to be able to meet you!
Brandon, I’ll do my best on the Charger! Now if only I could stop falling asleep on the floor with the cat. He likes it that way, but it robs me of all my bench time!
