Well, these things happen. Did you have any fit issues that I've heard about on this kit? I have it in my stash so I'd like to see what to look out for. It looks like it's turning out great.

Hurray! I'm finished with ay least one of my SS gifts.

Super fun and as of now, I'm planing on taking it to the Nats next year in Las Vegas.

Thanks SS and I hope I justified the time and money you spent on me. It should have it's first contest in Oct in Salt Lake City assuming I can make it there.

Thank you my friend. I still have a Space Yamato that my SS sent to me to get to now.

Well, Steve, that is one worthy of a trophy. I think you killed this one. Well done, Sir.

Love that ship, Steve!  I am inspired by it!

You are right on track (ba dum bump) Brandon with the Dicker Max, progress is looking good.

Speaking of getting on track, mine are almost wrapped up.  They just need another off-black swipe on the rubber pads, a light graphite dry brush on the metallic edges, and an over all dust wash.

I've also been painting the tub and road wheels by hand, so installation of the tracks should be done later in the week, once painting is done to my satisfaction.

There were some minor issues with the wings, but much less than most kits I have built. A little putty and sanding made quick work of it. It went together quite nicely and I hope to get some paint on her in the next few days.

Your Tracks look great. It takes real talent to make plastic tracks look like the real deal. Well done thus far.

That's good news. I was looking forward to building this one but I hate kits that are newer and just fit terrible. I have hope afterall.

Steve, whoah I missed your ship!  That looks awesome!  The busy-ness the crew add makes for a super realistic presentation.

Thanks G! Yeah, 20 guys don't go very far. I'm going to need to get several sets for the North Carolina and Prince of Wales.

Not sure if it's the virus, or just life in general, but this year's GB is moving along very slowly. Kinda like crickets around here. I must admit that I've been distracted from my builds and haven't been getting much bench time, hardly any actually. Looks like the time to hunker down is nearly upon us. I think I'll be making some progress on these kits in the days and weeks ahead. I hope all of you are well and well stocked for the time needed.

I just recently finished my SSGB kit, Hasagawa 1/32 F6 Hellcat. It's currently sitting on my desk here at work. Still working on getting my WIP pictures downloaded for submitting on this SS site.

Sorry for the delay in the pics.  2020 has been a weird year already and with the virus thing it's crazy at home and work.

The builds on here are awesome!  These kits look great!  Everyone is doing a smashing job!

Well, here are all the pics I have finally gotten around to download.  This is an awesome kit and it has been a joy to build.  I have a few more things to do to it and she'll be done soon.  Enjoy!

You certainly can't go wrong with a nice 109 and you have done this one up very nice. Looks like a med theatre scheme. The umbrella shading the cockpit is a nice touch. Very cool work.

I agree.    The umbrella is all that was left of the tropical beverage he had deciding on the paint scheme----why he went with the Med/North African paint.Big SmileYes

Thank you sir.  LOL!  When I first opened it up and was going through the sprues, I saw the umbrella not knowing what it was at first.  Bish actually sent me a pic with a 109 with the umbrella attached!  I had to do it.

LOL!  You got it!  It had to be done. Now if I could just find a 1/48 figure of a German pilot laying in a lounge chair!!!  LOL!

Thank you sir!

Eagle90,

Oh that is a NICE Bf-109!  The "F" version was considered the peak of the line, as it combined a more powerful engine with sleeker aerodynamics.  The "G"s got lumpy and bumpy, and started to get overweight.  The Bf-109 also looks especially handsome in North African colors.

Very nice with that 109, Eagle!

Tracks have been installed on the Leopard.

Hoping a dust wash after I seal it will make them pop some more.  They still look flat to me.

Well, here she is.  I know we are not supposed to divulge Santa information but I need to give credit where credit is due. My original Santa could not commit financially due to unexpected issues so Brandon bought this for me so I would have something. Keep in mind Brandon has young kids so this really was a purchase made by the kindness of one man's heart. I have a few built kits that I call "forever kits"; those that will never be thrown away.  This is one of them.  Thank you for hosting this group build! I believe the first picture would be most appropriate for the front page.

Chad, I appreciate the kind words, it was no problem and the right thing to do. I am very happy you like the kit and even more pleased with how it turned out. You really did an amazing job on that one. I think this one is museum quality for sure. I will update the main page. Excellent work.
