Thanks mach. Fortunatly it doesn't really show up in the pics, but it does show under the magnifyer. A bit rouhg where i have cut the canopy open mainly.

Thanks John. No, i doubt they could see much, they just had those bulges in the canopy.

Well done, Martin.  I don't envy the pilots who instructed green pilots in the 109 from that back seat.  There can't have been any view whatsoever of the runway.

Time to wrap this up. The aircraft was finished earlier in the week. Just a light flory wash and some exhaust stains. The final parts were then added. The canopy is not to brilliant, i struggle to cut canopies, and vac ones more so. Fit isn't brilliant but close enough.

Then spent the week doing the figures and some chocks and got it all on the base.

John those stripes are looking great on that super gloss white you laid down. Sharp looking jet.

Sorry you are having decal issues. Overall I was not really happy with the Trumpeter Talon. I expected a bit more from a modern kit. I used all aftermarket decals, but I'm not overly surprised that they are giving you trouble.

The white paint looks great!

Progressed to the decal stage,  Not impressed with these trumpter decals,  they really need a decal softener and only Walthers works, and just barely.  I'm considering make masks and painting the front half.

And they are flakey, as you can see from the under side of the wing.

The 109 is painted up, all with Xtracolor.

Then the decals. these went on well, i was surprised.

Hopefully i'll have this done by the end of the week.

The 109 is now ready for primer and paint. I cut the canopy open, a bit rough, i still have not mastered cutting open canopies, especially vac form ones.

I forgot to post my finished 1/72 revell Hawk T.1 months ago.

Whoa John, that's the HOT STUFF!

I've literally tried everyone out there.  Micro-sol, micro-set, walthers, testers model master, tamiya!  it's crazy.  the only one that will do anything is Micro-set the blue bottle.

John that's looking beautiful tho! Looks worth the effort. Probably better to take the time rather than try a hotter setting solution with those big decals.

Long overdue update on my T-38.  decals a large and don't respond to setting solution very well,  each decal can take an hour to get to lay down!

Looks great so far. That must be a small kit!

Finally made a start on the 109. This is the upgrade option and so comes with resin parts. One problem i have is that i don't have the instructions and none are posted online. But i've built enough 72nd 109's to know where the basics are.

The pit is resin with some PE parts, all painte and weathered before going together.

The fuselage had alredy been put together before i bought it, but the pit went in easy enough after a touch of sanding. The wings are one piece and fitted rather well compared to other MPM aircraft i've built.

The rear instrument panel was higher, triangle in shape. But i did think it odd as it would abscure the instructors view. I found a 48th build on line useing a conversion set and that showed the IP well, and seeme dto better match what little i could make out on photo's. So i cut the top portion off.

So far not a bad kit, typical short run with no inserion tabs, but generally fits nice.

I've since primed and painted the RLM 02 areas underneath.

That is a cool diorama! So well put together.

It took me a month, but I finally found the last flight patch I was looking for!

The orange knight "John Black" T-37 flight patch on the left.

I added the front wheel chocks also.

That's a great display.

I'm still tinkering with my pilot training display, but I'm getting close.

I'm trying for a forced perspective with a 1/72 T-37 and everything else 1/48.

I have to figure out a better transition between the 2 background photos. Maybe a light pole?

I'm missing one patch, I had it but can't find it now!

The Flightpose stand looks better in person than in the photo's.

Overall I'm very happy with how it is looking!

The markings are mostly correct for mid '80s Williams AFB in Arizona.
