2 coats of primer.

The under wing seams are proving to be a pain.

Hey mach71,

I have a question about getting in on this GB. I found a couple of started SR-71s at a garage sale that are in different states of completion/disrepair. One of them is a -B model. My goal is to do what I can to restore/finish the bith of them. The problem is, rhe -B might break the rule number 4; Any build, kit/kitbash/scratch build as long as it's less than 50% complete at the start

Is it too far along for this GB?

Let me know. Thanks!

-O

-It's Omar, but they call me "O".

Working on the seams of the T-38 now. They are not too bad.

So today was my day off from my essential Whistling job.  I actually was able to finish the little Magister.  It's not perfect. But it'll do in the display.  Done as a fledgling German Luftwaffe trainer in the late 50's. Had a lot of fun with this. Didn't sweat the small stuff

Excellent! 1st to finish!

Nice job!

Question. I'm still up in the air on the markings for my Magister. Patrouille de France is a possibility. Anyone know a Tamiya color or mix for the blue 15180 is the fs number.

Edit. Just found something that says xf-8 is 15183. Close enough

The gear wells locators are very well engineered.

No glue is really needed, they are held really tightly.

The kit cockpit is done.

The rear panel is shifted a bit, I'll try and correct that.

No worries at all.

I'll leave you on the list in case you change your mind. Only about half of GB members complete the builds on time.

Sounds good!

I've heard that Revell Germany might be working on a big, 1/32, kit of the magister.

I'm still pluging away at both cockpits for my Trumpeter kit.

How is it going togther?

Its a fairly simple kit. A little putty in the seams. Nothing to bad.

Today I actually put glue to plastic!

I glued the rear cockpit panel to the front seat bulkhead and rear housing.

Looks like a nice clean job removing the AIM-9 rails.

Good job!

I'm decaling the kit cockpit now. Still not sure which one I'll use.

The decals look nice, but kind of cartoonish. I'm waiting for the Micro Sol to settle them down, I've already put on the Sol 3 times! The decal seems to finally be conforming to the gear handle.

Made about 5 mins progress before other things called my name. At least I removed the wing-tip rails, razor saw worked beautifully! Big Smile

Other then that, nothing to report.

That's some nice progress on the pit mach, good work Yes. I'm trying to get up the energy (and bravery), to get back to work on my T-38. You know what... I'm going to shut down right-away and get cracking again. See ya'll later!

I gloss coated the kit cockpit in prep for the decals.

The Aftermarket pit is coming along also.

No new photo's, I'm just cleaning up yesterdays work.

I repainted the instrument panel covers flat black, I didn't like the semi gloss.

Just the 1st cut, cleanup to follow.
