GMorrison

I am going through old bins and found these from Reno a while back.

Bill

I saw some of these flying in France in the 1980's, Yup I'm old!

I've always found the design interesting for a trainer. It strikes me as a crossing of the T-33 and the T-37.

Performance is similar to the T-37. Which is not surprising given the time and mission.

Nice job Bish - great to see another kit built here.  Don't see the 2 seater version built much.  Well done my friend.

Thanks,

John

Got the 262 wrapped up last night and here's the final pics. The Keten is an Acabemy kit and the figures are metal from Matador Models. The PE intake covers are from Airmodel in Germany.

Thanks for hosting the GB, pleased to have the excuse to build this.

Man that T-38 looks good!

Calling the mentor done.  Despite putting a bunch of weight in the nose, she's still a tail sitter :/  Really nice kit - probably the best Minicraft kit I've done.  I wanted to do the canopy open but the kit just didn't really allow for it.

And the Flory wash :)

Hey keavdog tell us about how that flory wash is to work with. Ive thought about picking some up but don't trust the marketing vids yet ;-).
it sure looks damn good and you picked the perfect color to go against that yellow.

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Hey Bish that looks fantastic!  I'm a big fan of the Flory wash.  Looking forward to the finished product.

Thanks,

John

With my S-boat done, i have been able to spend more time on the 262. I gave it a light Flory wash and then added some of the final parts including the drop tanks.

I've sinced added everything else and attached this to the base. It should be wrapped up in a few days.

Thanks John - you're going to like this one!  I have a mess of decals left over after my build so let me know if you'd like any.  The NMF kit offerings just didn't interest me.

I did option 1 and screwed up and used the black stripes from option 2... thought they were wing walks, but the rest is there if you like.

It's this sheet.

PM me your address and they're yours.

Bish

Need to catch up on this GB, some gret looking builds here guys. Now i have wrapped up my S-Boat, i can focus on finishing the 262.

Do you have a build thread on your S-boat?

Is it the American Sub?, The British sub?, or the German torpedo boat?

I would love to see it!

John, great finish on that, like your use of the Flory wash, gives it a nice finish. I have used MRP on a couple of builds, really nice paint but it does show any slight imperfection.

In my best John Wayne imitation:  "We'ell, it looks done ta me!"

Very nice.  White can be a very unforgiving color.

The T-34 looks very sharp, John.  It's so nice to have a good kit of it in 1/48 finally.

The T-38 is done!

The forward windscreen fit is poor, thats my fault. I put too much primer/paint

trying to fix the one issue I had with this kit. The fit of the wings on the bottom.

I had a bad time getting them smooth.

That's my only real gripe with this kit. The rest went together well. The cockpit is detailed enough that I did not use the resin aftermarket I bought. The decals are not for the aircraft that I wanted, so I went with Caracal decals. They were a joy to use, something I needed after the decal issues I had with the Star Trek Movie Enterprise I built for another GB.

While the T-38 is done, I'm not finished with it yet. Once I get some decals for my T-37 I'll have another update.

I love the paint! The yellow looks perfect!

I've never painted with Mr. Paint, I'll have to start now!

My Talon is basicly done. All I have left is to paint the nav lights.

But, I've decided on one more minor modification.

I'm still waiting on decals for my 1/72 T-37. Mail from the Ukraine takes a while I guess.

My end plan is coming together, and I hope will look good.

Put a bit of paint down.  First time using MRP paint and I really liked the way it sprayed right out of the bottle.  I've got some cleanup to do (no canopy masks available) but making progress!

Thanks,

John

Decaling is done on the T-38.

I have to seal it and then glue the canopy on. Then some last min touch up paint.

I'm waiting on Some decals for the T-37.

The ground equipment is ready.

Just a few more things....

With the refit Enterprise finally done for the lockdown GB I've been able to get back to the T-38. Decaling has begun!
