I was reading about the Su-152 with its 152mm gun. Apparently the Russians built it to go after the Tiger I. They said they could kill Tigers with the T-34, but only within 200 meters and the Tiger could killl the T-34 at over 1500 meters. They created the 152 to act as a Tiger killer and assault troop support tank firing rounds over the heads of their advancing troops. They had quite a few of these and were pretty successful with it. Most of these I've seen have no markings whatsoever. I found that boring so I put markings on it of one they sent to a parade in Poland near the end of the war. It also used many of the same lower hull parts and tracks for the KV-1. Cool tank.

Alrighty then. I'm just posting up a storm lately.

At this point I am done with the painting process. It is now drying in the dehydrator for a few hours and I will begin the weathering process. This is a pretty nice little kit. I appreicate SS for gifting it to me, it will look great with all the other armor.

Well gents, I will be back with the SSGB for 2022 and I will be posting a sign up thread  pretty soon so we have plenty of time to get everyone on that is interested. I will also be hosting another Floats and Boats GB for 2022 if anyone wants to tag along. Let's finish this one up with a flurry of activity, no more letting life get in our way, plastic matters.

Alright Gents, I am 17 hours in on this one. It's the first build out of the new room. So much easier to work now. I have the kit fully built, I just have to decide on a scheme. The kit only offers one with no markings, but it has decals. I am going to look up schemes and make a call then. I will start painting very soon. Hope you enjoy the progress.

Oh, it is GLORIOUS to have such a wonderful space to work in. I am officially up and running again.

I have the booth set up to vent outside at the window. I have this board built to go in the window when I need to spray and it's easy in/out. I'm just waiting on the 6 in to 4 in adapters for the new fan I added to the booth. I also added a 4 ft LED light over the booth for all the light I can handle while painting.

The bench is fully up and running and I will be starting the Soviet Howitzer today. Yes

Wow!  Quite a workspace there BK.  I want one too!  Have been contemplating eliminating the carpet monster as well, but I don't get the final say in the matter.

Time to stand up and PARTY !!!

I have completed the basement. And the moddeling room setup has begun. I will be building again in just a couple weeks. I still have to get the booth setup and paint racks installed, but he hard work is over. I now have a full 22x13 space dedicated to only modeling. I will post a thread in the forums of the room. But hey, I'm nearly there.

TheMongoose

Finished! I think I did my secret santa proud. Thanks so much for the extra figures, they definitely inspired me to do more with this one Bow Down

it all started here...

TheMongoose

My favorite part of these is building something different! My SS got me Tamiya's Panther PLUS the HobbyBoss Tank Crew!

I haven't built a tank in 5 years. This will be a great addition to my display shelf.

I came across a bombed out house on an auction site that I thought this scene really needed to complete it. I built the tanks and figures right out of the box. Weathered with flory washes, tamiya panel line wash, and some vallejo pigments, mud and rust. The paint is all vallejo, i just happened to have the colors for the box art. Overall. Kept it simple since this is only my 2nd tank since i was a kid. It's going to be a nice display piece in the living room cabinet.

Always have to have a Ginger in anything i do with figures ;-)

Wow!! Now that is straight up incredible work. Your first tank? Sure it is. Man, that is impressive work. My hats off to you for pulling off such an amazing piece of work. Well done.!! Bow Down

Well that looks great Chris, especially since this is really your first tank. Building one as a kid doesn't count in my book. Which pic do you want on the wall?

Thanks! lots of fun trying new techniques. Learned a little about these tanks to.

lets use this one

If you're going for a terracotta type tile, they tend to a reddish orange/brown.

If you have a model railroad section in a LHS, take a look there.  Micromark also has something along those lines for stone streets.  Probably look at "O" gauge.... 1/48.

Kinda reminds me of the Cologne Panther vs Pershing scene.

I wasn't familiar with that. Looking at images online it's a pretty wild tank duel in the streets! I added a little rubble in a corner of mine to finish out a line but nothing like that. Maybe in a few years I'll try a more detailed tank dio. Rubble takes some planning has been my lesson learned on this. In the future I'll have to keep all the chunks broken off of molds and anything else i do in plaster.
