Nick, great looking build!
That backdrop looks pretty cool too, and matches perfectly with the model.
regards,
Jack
Berry naisu Maru-Yon! Suteki (pretty). Subarashii (marvelous). Taihen yoku dekimashita (very well done)!

Gamera. Thank you, this is a very fun topic. Maybe a f-86,f-86d or an f4g ?
Steve. I appreciate your comments thank you. I used Vallejo fs 36495 usaf light grey for the anticorrosion finish.
Jack. thank you. the backdrop is from Noy's Minitures( modern hanger) in 1/48. I bought it though Hannants.
Real G. Doumoarigatougozaimasu.( thankyou very much) . I hope its means the same and for the Japanese lessons for watching and your comments.
Nick.
Nick: Had a little more time today on the work PC at lunch and got you posted. I used the top photo, if you'd rather I used one of the others lemme know and I'll switch it out.
All of those others sound cool. I love seeing planes in different markings.

Yes I like it . The pic. goes with the other two f-104's I built. Thanks again I'll be waiting for the next Japanese GB.

Yes, and the reply is "doitashimashite", or "don't touch my moustache"!
Nick, the Maru Yon is an absolute ripper! That is a fantastic result, a very attractive plane beatifully portrayed!
Real G and Lostagain. Thank you for your comments and for watching. This F-104 is a fun kit to build..
Managed to get a bit of time painting Nausicaa and Kai this weekend. Still playing around with different colours.
ANd started painting accessories too.
That is moving along nicely. What scale is it?
That looks lovely Piers, love it!
Thanks Cliff,
I have had a bit more time painting, been plenty of changing my mind as we go along
Most inspiring Lostagain - I really must build mine. After building two of them for friends, it's high time I had one in my dust collection.
Nitto had planned other figures like the Tolmekian knights, Yupa and Azbel. It is most unfortunate they never materialized.
My friend who introduced me to Nausicaa wanted a snow globe with Nausicaa standing on an Ohmu exoskeleton, holding one of the eyes over her head like in the movie. I never was able to make one for him, and he passed away in 2002. I thought his idea was really cool, so perhaps it's time to go to the "Absent Friends" memorial GB and get it done.
Love that Piers! Changing your mind sounds good to me, what else is there in modeling but fiddling and adjusting things till you get what works for you?
You're right Cliff, this has been very organic - there is no 'right' scheme for this build for sure.
Like your previous builds Real G this one is leaving home - it is going to my brother who is into Ghibli movies - he gave me a model of the Laputa flappter, so he gets this in return. The Nausicaa/Ohmu build sounds like a good one too.
Nick it is 1/20 scale. My wife is a bit mystified by it, she has taken to calling it the 'war chicken'!
Think I'm done here! Looks like there's a little dust on the model but I'm going to go ahead and post the photos...
Turned out great. Love the finish and the figure.
Thanks,
John
That looks great Gamera! It almost looks like a Ki-61 at first glance It sure is a refreshing change from the usual flavor of Bf-109!
Fanstastic very appealing areal beauty.
Hello Cliff, nice one!
Nice sample of axis cooperation. I like it.
It's a beauty, Cliff. Nice base and figure.

Thanks guys, ya'll are waaaaaaaay too kind!
There is a small crack in the canopy I made removing it from the sprue and one of the decals above the tail wheel silvered (guess I need to smear some 'dirt' over it) but otherwise things went really well. I was worried about the camo but it went off like clockwork, first try worked like a charm and no cleanup required.
And don't ask for a closeup of the pilot. He probably wouldn't get accepted by the IJA being really, really, crosseyed. I tried to clean it up but after the third try it just seemed worse so I left him. Maybe some tiny glasses would help...
Finally getting started on my Kurogane utility vehicle. First WIP pcs:
Looks good AA, nice work!
Cliff, that is a ripper! Great work with the 109, super finish and subtle weathering. It has all come togehter really well.
AA, good start on the Kurogane, I wasn't familiar with that one.
Kai and Nausicaa are getting closer
A_A.
L.A. thats looking real sharp .
Piers: So cool, they're coming along great!
TJ: Thanks! lol
