Gamera, thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't thought of that!  I will post it up over in Dioramas.  Thanks again.

Should have done this weeks ago, guess it's better late than never though...

AA: That looks great!!! Did you post her over in the diorama section? I'd be proud to show her off!!!

Tony: Great work there too! The NM looks so good I'd be tempted to just leave her in that!

So here's the final scene, the Frank mated with the Kurogane on the included display base.  I really have to highly recommend this Tamiya kit.  All the parts you see came with the kit (except for the EZ-line for the antenna wires); all figures, both vehicles, and the display base materials, all in a very economical package.  It may not be the most detailed kit, but it went together easily thanks to typical Tamiya excellent engineering; in fact it was a much easier build than their A6M5 Zero that I did.  A fun, quick build that produces a nice little scene.

Here's my George with a metallic coat prior to getting her camo. The intention is to do some chipping, although not too much.

Cheers

Tony

Alright, the Ki-84 "Frank" is DONE.  Final reveal pics here.  I will eventually add it to a diorama base with the previously finished Kurogane and a pilot figure (all came in the same Tamiya kit), but this is the finished airplane.  Gamera, you can use image #3 in this sequence for the front page gallery thanks!

I've made some progress on my N1K2-J Shiden. I found several references that quoted a colour close to interior green for the cockpit, which surprised me. I've just added harnesses, after deciding to live with the integrally moulded armchair they provide for a seat.

If you run this again next year Cliff, I've realised I've got three Japanese projects that I want to build.

Cheers

That's some nice work John! Congrads!

Do you want me to go ahead and post you or did you want to do another photo for the front page?

Nice AA. I read where the paint would come off in sheets beause some manufacturers, Nakajima for one, didn't use primer on most of their aircraft. Mitsubishi is about the only one that was consistent throughout the war.

Oh and guess what, they are about the only one that survived the war.
