Not much new to show now that I'm back at the work grind. January's are like Monday's. All the fun comes to a sudden stop and you forget what you were working on before you left on Friday.

I worked some on the engine, adding the rust for the turbo and exhaust. The exhaust pipe wouldn't be that rusted that far down but you won't see alot of it. The turbo on the Cat on my Simi looked just like that though. I started on the ab and got some of the seat framing done. Nothing to show really.

MC: That looks absolutely fantastic.

I started into the Tornado this past weekend and got the pit assembled, painted and decaled. I'm really loving this kit.

The pit looks the part. I have a Tornado in my stash and I really want to see how she builds out. Looking forward to watching this one.

Hi Steve, when I saw my recipient was going to be you I wanted to make sure I found something a little different and interesting and I know you will do it justice. Enjoy! I'm not a great fan of modern military stuff, but this looks so interesting I think I will make an exception and get one for myself. You're doing a great job so far.

I'm afraid I won't be starting mine for a while as I want to finish a couple of last years builds first.

Steve I think you're always the first one out of the gate!

Thanks Chad, I open the box in the morning and by the afternoon, it's on the workbench.

So this little jewel of a kit is amazing! Packed with detail but not a beginers kit by any stretch. I completed the frame and Cat engine, painted some detail on both and gave them a nice grimy wash. I know that most will not be seen but that's while I did it now. The underside armor will cover most of the frame and transaxles. Next will be the cab and body.

Thai is such a fun kit! It's been a while since I've enjoyed building suspensions and engines like this...if ever.

Painted with Iraqi sand

Painted base coats

All grimed up. Forgot to install the radiator first Sad

The wheels are not attached

Installing the radiator, exhaust and intake hoses and pipes.

I'll add some hoses and wires after attaching the cab

I hear that....just renewed the Jeep, paid out 19.5K to save my ladies 2018 Equinox from being repopped and costing the estate around 5K.  Got to get new plates, her's were her HAM radio call sign.  I'm not an operator, so can't keep the plates.  Now both rigs will come due same month/year.  Right now the Jeep is $122 and the Equinox is $132, that's just new stickers.  Add in title transfer and plate purchase, getting close to $275-290 range.

Got to go to DMV tomorrow and drop around $250 for title transfer, new plates and registration.

Stopping by walley to get dog and cat food.  Already on the list for a new gorilla gel.

I hate paying registration as I have 4 rigs, but I'm a car junky, what can I say.

Started to assemble the pit today, got most of the styrene bits in.  Looking to do the PE tomorrow. Got a hunch I'm going to hate that sadistic little elf.  Broke out the tweezers and CA applicator tonight.  Paint for the interior color mix arrived today.  After pit is together, will get before and after paint pics up.

my best advice for those sadistic little elves is to get brand new CA 2 cents there's no good emoticon for your best evil laugh

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Thanks but lets keep it a surprise

Your package left the vender on 12/2 and just left Los Angeles for overseas on 12/29. With shipping being what it is, this may take a bit. Sorry it's so slow.

BK

Many thanks for checking Smile. I wander why is it traveling by sea from LA to Vancouver. Wouldn't a truck be faster?

I started on my Oshkosh M-TAV a couple of days ago and this is a nice kit! I'm really enjoying it Big Smile Thank you Dodgy!

The kit starts with the frame and suspension

I removed the plastic cable on the wench and added my own twisted wire to replace it.

I don't know how much will be seen after everthing has been added but I know it there.

Steve, that looks really well detailed and the cable will make a difference. Looks like painting might be some work there.

Where you going to try out Meng's 3D decal zimmerit or go with a homemade application?

I am going to go with a home brew zimmerit. I watched a video of Mengs decals and I was not impressed. I think I can do better by hand. This will be interesting to say the least.
