i want it to be creative. can't rush it. Off to look thru my stash again

I just finished up the Hawker Hunter my son got me for Christmas. The F-5 frog camo may win out over the secret santa build...and a variety of crazy stuff in my stash I'm dying to start!

Well, I think I should get started on this build soon. I'll have to crack out my French tank!

Lol. Years ago I had a waitress giggle when I told her I think I'll go with the tempura soup with the noodles since I was in a noodly sort of mood.

Well I could paint her green. I was just worried if I go with a green truck and then paint the surf boards red it would give a weird Christmassy vibe to the model.

I do have some small Coke boxes, would that be enough for the 'red' ingredient if I put them in the bed?

 

I just figured that being a poison arrow tree frog instead of a regular frog I could go with red instead of a more normal frog colour of green, brown, or grey.

You know, I found myself trying to use the word Christmasy myself. I guess we're inventing a new word here on Finescale! Lol

Actually, adding anything red to your build outside a decal counts. I'm planning to add red via a shirt in my diorama! So, it's a pretty flexible requirement. :)

I found the kit!!! 

Okay, I'm going to paint it red, put her on a sandy beach base. Might add a couple of surf boards to the back to further the beach impression. 

And looks like a frog to me from the front. Does it fit for you Mongoose? How about it?

Still thinking on mine. I do have a little Japanese car/trike thingie with bug-eyed headlamps that looks sorta frog-like. I'll see if I can find it, if it fits Real G's concept of 'frog' I can paint it red and stick it on a beach to fill out 'red' and 'sand'.

Whoops! I looked for the car over the weekend and didn't find her. I should be able to find it by the first of the year I hope though. Which I'll aiming for as a start date.

Got my tank today! I'll be doing Tamiya's 1/35 R-35

 

I'm going to anguish over this one for awhile. Looked at a couple things today. Shipping is ridiculous though. My final conclusion is...wait for the show in Columbus OH in Feb. Lots of vendors so I'm bound to find one of the kits I'm looking for there.

I had a cat for maybe 14 years who had been a stray. She was a great one; so I know what ya mean about the cats. Can't say I don't keep weird animals, though, what with the gecko and all...

My idea for what to build is a French tank --its crew pointing out a literal 1/35 frog to some kids (maybe I can do a red shirt or something). Found the perfect kit for this! 

Sand I can squeeze into the diorama via sandbags and/or terrain. Setting in the countryside by a pond maybe.

 ...And, yes, I found 1/35 frogs believe it or not!

Though I like weird animals, I have no desire to keep them as pets.  Cats that inconsiderate dopehead people throw away/abandon are good enough for me.  I did watch a Youtube video where an iguana went nuts over a belly rub - its legs flailed in ecstacy like it was from the Muppet Show!

So getting back to the subject at hand - I'm only coming up with a Soviet (red) SSM (Frog) in the desert (sand)!  I'll come up with something more creative.

I've already been piecing together what I'm gonna do. Y'all?
