Aw, you should have caught it and kept it as a pet then! It would be a pretty and exotic specimen!

Tourism hotbeds tend to be pricey; it's the same deal where I live...though it's certainly worse in Hawaii!

My friend who has a couple of those frogs as pets told me they are not poisonous here in Hawaii.  Must be the different environment.  So laid back here.

Which is ironic, considering the average price of a single family home is around 1 million dollars.  And these are not the fancy homes in swank neighborhoods.  The frog I met was in Manoa, which IS an upscale neighborhood.  I should have asked the homeowners how much he pays for rent.

Ok, here is the final list of ingredients!

1) Red, but not via a decal.

2) Frog

3) Sand

Time to get thinking about what we're gonna build! We have all of December to do so, but the ones who figure it out quickly and are eager to begin are welcome to start in December if they'd like.

Feel free to throw ideas around here! Big Smile

That's cool RealG!

Some info on the dart frogs:

"The poison in their skin can cause swelling, nausea, and paralysis if touched or eaten without necessarily being fatal.

A few species, however, are considered to be among the deadliest animals on Earth. For example, the golden poison dart frog has especially toxic skin with enough poison to kill as many as 10 grown men."

I just got back from a project in Manoa, where there was this little green and black frog hopping along inside the home.  Me and one of the contractors checked it out, and it turned out to be one of those poison dart frogs!

I apologize for the poor quality photo, but he kept running away from me!  We let him out the front door.  Invasive species, yes, but I could not bring myself to kill the little fella.  Plus the homeowners had no kids or pets.

Well, hey, at least you're entertained. That counts for something, right? Wink

You're welcome to join, though, still!

Sand or Spice Gam... just saying.

BTW, not sure if I'm joining.  I overcomitted on group builds this year so I'm trying to show some restraint... but I have to tell you it's fun bashing these things up in my head and poking around on the web.

Thanks,

John

Hmmmmmmmm, that's interesting. Something to think about.

I'm sitting at the beach right now and I saw Denis Villeneave's version of 'Dune'* the other week.

So I'm thinking 'SAND' as an ingredient.

You could do a piece of military hardware that fought in the desert. Or with light brown sandy camo.

Or a car with a surf board or with a light brown 'sandy' interior.

That should give people a wide option of different stuff you can work with.

Any opinons???

* Nope, not giant worms - though that would be an interesting choice...

Ok, I'll have that added. Wondering if you'd consider the simplification of doing Frogs, though, instead?Embarrassed Your call, but it would give us some more options. Either way, I'll figure out something...Tongue Tied Lol

...absolutely. I was thinking along the lines of these guys if it fits within the rules, i.e. the Dodge "Dart" and the "Phrog" helicopter. Does that fit or does it need to be more literal and we have to include the object? I got specific thinking the poison dart frog had lots of color patterns and 3 different things to do with it in terms of poison, dart, and frog. Stop me if I've strayed from the fold here, lol i may very well have. Lots of time to rethink this as we don't start till January right? Feel free to give me a course correction skipper Yes

Well, I think we should be specific with one main thing that needs to be incorporated. I.e.--have to incorporate Frog or Dart. You can technically do Poison Dart Frog, but I think going with that would indicate the necessity of incorporating a clear poison dart frog connection with the model (not Dart alone, Poison alone, or Frog alone). The trick with the Dodge Dart would be making the frog connection clear; for the Phrog, the trick would be making the specific "poison dart" connection clear. Because it's more specific than just a generic Frog, Poison Dart Frog would naturally be more difficult to comply with and incorporate. Geeked

If you went with the poison, dart and frog, that would open up more possibilities to go with the other's... maybe a Delta Dart (a/c), Poison Pinto (car), or any type of frog ( NATO codename) frogfoot.
