edog,
gee, does that mean i could weasel in w/ my IV-D that i
started last September and then put aside
for a Komet that is not done, amd my Panther (finished),
and the T34/85 (finished), and a P-47(finished) ,
and a Pak 40 (in progress), and a Quad and 25 pounder (in progress)?

i am currently 'not allowed' to start any new kits until i finish the ones already in progress.
which is too bad as i have a few kits that would qualify.
but this build could get me back on the IV-D w/o violating the terms of my parole. Big Smile [:D]

i believe it needs the tracks, crew, final wash & weather.
not enough to earn a badge, but can i play anyway? Smile [:)]

Fortunately the end date is very liberal. I might work on mine when I need a break fom my Marder. Oh, all those bloody wheels to paint. That's worse than an ad-lib camo job.

Sounds good to me, Sir Erik. I'm still debating about those PE mesh screens for my J. I'm really leaning toward them. They look FANTASTIC!

Thanks for spearheading this!

Sounds great to me, edog!

As I've mentioned I technically jumped the gun and have already started my PzKpfw IV Ausf G "Kursk" from Dragon (#9020). However, I'll refrain from posting pictures or dissussing the build until after everyone officially starts. That way, it will appear as though it's happening at the same time. Beside, since I've just started working on the indi tracks, by the time I'm finished with them, everyone else might well be at about the same point I am.

Looking forward to this build,

Robert Foster

yes, any Pz IV tank, but I was thinking we would try to stay away from variants.

ARMOR - Pz IV Group Build
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, June 11, 2004 3:02 PM
So some of us discussed a Pz IV group build a little while ago. First let me say that I really want to make this a lax build with few or no real rules, except have fun!! However, some guidelines are as follows:

The Group Build Guidelines:
  • If we do get a group going, I would like to try to keep the discussion limited to the actual Pz IV as much as possible. At the same time though, I would love to see any progress pics of Pz IVs, or variants that you guys might be building. I also would be more than happy to answer any questions about variants that I could.

  • As far as Pz IVs for other group builds, I see no problem with building them across both threads, but I guess that is more up to the other GBs. In any case I would love to help you guys out with any questions, or discussions you might have. Of course you will have to post as many pics as possible though.

  • As far as a timeline, this will be a very unofficial start date, but how does June 15th sound? Feel free to start anytime, but for those of you who want to try to start together, how about the 15th? Let me know if you guys would like to make the very unofficial start date later... I will be busy for a very long time with my Pz IV builds and I see no need for an official end date.

  • Concerning kits that have already been started, I welcome them. If I don’t go insane, I will probably be working on my Pz’s for quite some time so I don’t see the need for a strict timeline. As far as already completed models, I would love to see any pics you guys have. It will be great for ideas, references and to get the discussion going strong.

  • I would love to get any references you guys have on the Pz IV, whether online, or printed, please let me know. If we get a group going, I will try to get a web page up with as much info as I can find.

  • Please, I would love to hear everyone’s comments or ideas on the GB guidelines.
