Np bro.. weathered mine a bit and like the way it turned out.
Ran into a problem on my decals. The kill markings are a 2 decal affiar (yellow ones then black out lines. Put the yellow ones on and coated with micro set and they disolved!! so I have just the black outline ones Disapprove [V]

Haven't looked at the thread in awhile; been working feverishly to transfer all the images from one photo host to another as well as doing some research on some upcoming projects, including some GB's for next year...

Anyhoo, speaking of photos, all the large images in the Town Records thread have been resized. So if you want the larger versions of any of those images let me know...

Upon browsing the last several posts, looks like we've got great progress from some of ya'll. Keep it up!

Shrikes, I haven't forgotten you! I'll add you to the list just as soon as I can figure out whether I'm comin' or goin'...

Ok here are my final pictures of Ridge runner III. It is Tamiya 1/48 kit with True Details cockpit / tires, squadron canopy, and SuperScale decals. I built it for my friend's birthday.
Thanks for letting me participate in this group build; it really kept me motivated and helped me get done in time for his birthday next week.

Well I am done and will post the final pictures a little later today. Thanks again for the kind comments.

Murray, I have had somewhat sketchy results spraying future in the past too, but that is what I did and it went pretty well. If you haven't already read it, give swanny's article "The Complete Future" a read. I found it very helpful. Link below...

Leon... that Ridge Runner looks phenomenol (sp?)

Woodbeck... awesome buddy. Unfortunately I sprayed my silver first, I did it before I read that it's better to spray the blue first. Oh well... I'm going to future the silver, mask and shoot the blue and hope for the best.

Wow, really nice stuff here!

Jeff - the NMF looks great. Nice job. What paint/color was it again?

Leon - the Ridge Runner is looking amazing. It looks absolutely clean! Very crisp and well done. You obviously have some secrets that you should be sharing!! Whey you apply the future, do you spray it, or brush it? I'm having a bit of trouble spraying it. I have a really hard time finding the balance between a 'pebbly' finish and a 'runny' finish. I've been using a wide brush with much better success.

Lookin good there Jeff and Leon..........
I ended up buying the Hasegawa P51 D/K today instead of the Tamiya kit cause it was the only P51 at the LHS.....
Great lookin kit and i'm temted to do the US version cause It's a mighty fine lookin stallion, but the Aussie decals are already orderded so i'll stick with that....
the only gripe i have about the Hasegawa kit is the silly moulded on Seat harness, probably take a couple of hours carefully removing them so i can use the PE set............J.S........

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments!

To answer questions...the sheet is SuperScale Decan #42-806 (P-51D Mustang Aces European Theater) and the antiglare is black. I wasn't really sure either and from the pictures that BlackWolf supplied I wasn't sure and almost leaned toward OD too, but in the end I decided to trust the decal sheet. Probably a bad choice, but I figured that someone had to know when they made the sheet, right? Question [?]

Anyway, thanks again.

Leon - is that black on the upper fuselage? From the pictures that I have of Ridge Runner, some look like black and some look like olive drab. I was planning on painting my Ridge Runner with OD. Anyone know which color is correct? - or are both since there were 3 Ridge Runners?

that is a sweet build there Leon. your coverage on your paints is excellent. I have never done to much with NMF so its always a gamble for me. I decided to make mine not as shinny as everyone elses.. I plan on a a bit of a weathered look. I got bit my the Acrylic adhesion bug, nothing I cant fix with my eyes closed. I really like the way its coming together for me though. I might try mor NMF's in the future. Gonna play with a few panels in a diff. Alclad when that cures.

newtothegame -

looking real good!!! I'm working on the Ridge Runner also. Not quite as far along as you are though. I'm just getting ready to close up the fuselage tonight. I hope mine will be looking as good.

Looks great woodbeck. Your wing joint looks very nice. I had to use filler on mine...did you have some trick??

Well while I wait for the future to set so I can do the wash and some weathering, I was overcome by excitement at being almost done and decided to take one photo and play around with it. Here it is... More will come with better lighting when it is actually complete.
