I came home from school today to find that my ordered CF-18 decal sheet at the doorstepThumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]. now the components for Rafale are complete. glad the folks at FlightDecs came through.

Tomorrow's no school because of Remembrance Day, but I don't know if i'll be able to get any work done on the Rafale, cuz I might have to help someone with their new house.

I hate to say it, but after watching that national ceremony in Ottawa this morning, i think canadians have a better respect for their soldiers and fallen. what news media in the US would cover such an event as closely as the Canadians have?? none. they'll have something on ours for like 15 seconds later tonight, and that'll be it. everyone just knows that its a day off, and that its called verterans day. beyond that, they're clueless. a somber and respectful event like that just wouldn't 'sell' here in hte US, eccept for 9/11, and the only reason they show that is cuz it was only a couple years ago, and its lead to the situation we are in right now. and in general, the people are just
more in tune to what happened, and that it calls for respect and gratitude.

my regards to you northerners around here. you treat this day better than we do
Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

(EDIT- BTW, congratz bob101, your last post was number 500 on this topic. cheers!)

well unfortunatly its true. But not in my town. Two best friends who were killed in Iraq are having their funerals today. Lots of people remembering.
My cousin is from the south, and let me say that things down there are very different from California. My guess is they have a lot of respect for vets.

In Canada, people wear a poppy (my sig) on remembrance day, to remember the fallen soldiers. Is there something like that in the states?

I think we here in the States respect veteran's day far too little. All we have to show for it is all day showings of saving private ryan. Seriously. I think that's pretty sad.
