                        i was hunting deer rebelreenactor, and i got one Big Smile [:D] my first dear, mule deer buck, 3 points on each side so it is a canadian 3 pointer, or american 6 pointer, 100lbs after being skinned, and it is the biggest deer we have ever gotten.i got it after just 2 hours of hunting! first shot hit in the head too.

                        yesterday i was listening to the radio and the lady on htere said that d-day happend and june 6 1994! she didn't even know she made a mistake.

                        i have never watched a remmeberance day service or a vetern's day service so i don't know which is better, but i think rememberance day sounds more respective than vetern's day.

                        have any of you other canadians seen one of those poppy toonnies(or were they quarters?) yet? i haven't but i have seen the commercials

                        i've seen the commercials too, and ti seems to me that you can only get them poppy quaters at Tim Hortons, but i'm not sure of that. I never go to tim hortons, so i've never seen one. but i sure would like to save one come the chance.Approve [^]

                        Just out of curiosity, I would like to ask what skill lvels you people are at? (To see how outclassed I am by people my own age even. lol.) Also, how many of y'all own airbrushes? I know i own an aztek. If that counts as an AB. lol.

                        well, its hard to say what skill level im at, considering that i dont have many pics of my stuff to put up. also, i havent had the chance to put some things ive learned recently to use due to school.

                        i own an airbrush, its an Aztec (Yuck [yuck]), but im hoping to get a new one sometime in the near future. maybe i can sell the old AB to somebody just startin'. or would that be considered sabotage??Black Eye [B)]Wink [;)]Wink [;)]

                        I have an airbrush. Its a Paashce H. It works great, most of the time... My skill, well it has improved ALOT over the past year. What type of scale are you taliking about though. 1-3? 1-5? 1-10?

                        Hmm I dont quite know what scale. how about 1/72?LOL. maybe a word description, ranging from decals on very gluey and bare plastic, to extremely skilled user of aftermarket parts and scratchbuilder.Wink [;)]

                        Well lets see, the last model i built (finished last night) had some very crappy decals so that doestn countWink [;)] Decals is one my areas I concentrate most on. I alwasy worry about getting them on crooked and getting out the bubbles. But the hard work does pay off. I havent tried any AM or PE yet but it will be in the near future. At painting I am pretty good. I have finally learned about paint ratios and what not. However I am still expieriencing with Washes and drybrushing. i have only done scratchbuilding once, well a major one at least. I'd have to say that with my limited amount of tools, I am ok.

                        But the one thing I am getting really good at is dioramas. The last one I built was I think, awsome. It took one of those empty harted victories though an the last show. I get pics as soon as my sister brings back the digital camera!!!!!Angry [:(!]

                        BTW, anybody know what happend to Dubix????? hasnt been around in a while.

                        i have built model since i was 12, i started in aircraft and cars then i started armour last year. i am amazed at how good i am at armour, good by my own standards at least.

                        i have an airbrush that i got at a tool liquidation for $8.99 can. it looks identical to a badger 250. but i dont' have a compressor so i haven't used it yet.

                        my friend works at tim hortons and there is one across from my school, i'll have to ask him if they have them. maybe i will go and get the chicken stew in a bread bowl.....mmmmmmmmm, and then i'll eat the bowl!! lol

                        So yeah, I am OK at painting, just figured out paint ratios and the like. Wiht washes, dry brushing and pastel weathering i am still experimenting, but on my cockpit in the f-4 i think my drybrushing turned out OK. My aztek isn't good eneough for free hand paint schemes thoug,(this is because i dont have a regulator for my compressor I think.) My phantom will actually be my first attempt at three tone camo. I don't use aftermarket or PE yet, but I hope to soon. The first aftermarket I will use is decals methinks. Next would be resing cockpits, but only after my painting skills improve a little. I have no materials to scratchbuild with, though I am really not lacking the tools, I have no sheet styrene etc. My first diorama will not be in the far future. In conclusion, the work I've seen here far outstrips mine. But I'm working on it.Wink [;)] I don't think a can of propellant will last very long BTW.

                        I'd say my skills are adequate. I most enjoy painting, and i least enjoy filling seams and sanding, and fillling, and sanding, and filling, and sanding, and filling, and sanding......Yuck [yuck]Yuck [yuck] anyhow i haven't touched photoetch or resin yet, and i have used aftermarket decals. i can see myself using resin from Cobra Company to convert an ah-6j into an mh-6j. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

                        By the way, i own a Badger 350 single action, which is basically the same as a paschee H. it's worked great for me. for air source, i use a 5-gallon compressed air tank that i fill at the gas station. i hate propellant cans!!! SoapBox [soapbox]it will barely last one model. count in the practice shots and cleaning shots and that kind of stuff, it's practically useless.

                        no AIRBRUSHES for me!! and idc!! i dont want one!! ive been perfectly happy with brushes!! OLD SKOOL SON!!!! i have done photoetched on a USS COLE (it came with the kit (PANDA)) i have scratchbuilt b4 and i am right now THESE KITS I HAVE ARE REALLY BAD!! for scratchbuilding i use wood, paper, soda can aluminum (dont laugh until u try it, gotta have experience to make it look good)
                        ill call myself a 10\10!! im perfectly happy with what i have done (although i need to fix some early stuff up)

                        So, this build seems to have been more about complaints of school, nothing is wrong with that, But how is everybodys builds comming along.

                        Ahhh, yes a progress report... Progress, hehe. I've made some of that. Once. lol. Anyway, the f-4e is almost at the painting stage. I just need to fill a few gaps, and two tiny pieces, and then it's straight to airbrushing. I won't be done for a while yet though. But I sould theoretically make the deadline...

                        Jeez, wait a few days for paint to dry? You have that much patience?! I usually airbrush in the morning, and come back to it 12 hours later and that's it, time for the future. But if I don't have any time in the evening, it gets like 30 hours drying time, but that's really it. Maybe that's why my painting jobs suck...

                        I'll check into that Imps thing for you.

                        Man How do both of you have the patience for waiting. I usually spray my model, then about 1/2 -1 hr I paint the next coat on, i have never had any problems.
