intended to get down stairs last night to finish off the tailplane sanding after connecting my daughters new PC to the home wireless network. I got that done at 9.30pm with no enthusiasm left to sand plastic and filler Sad [:(]

cheers

Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D] ok --- most of it I figured pretty much what you wrote to acieve the translation... but the part about easily going in the will of your buffalo kind of had me stimped... actually I am more stumped now how they got "will" out of Brewster... gonna go over there and play with it and see what kind of crazy stuff I can come out with...

hmmm maybe you ought to let me translate your love letters to Kremps... Evil [}:)] promise I won't tell anyone... ESPECIALLY Sean what they say!!! Honest!!! Wink [;)]

How's about a little love poetry?

Querida Kremps,

Tus ojos son dos luceros, que alumbran los basureros. Tus patas son dos estacas, para amorrar muchas vacas..

(Dear Kremps, your eyes are two lights that illuminate the trash cans...your legs, two stakes that many cows could be tied to.) -- it flows better in spanish I promise!!

Gotta admit it has a certain flair.. she'd be trembling at the knees if you wrote that down to her!

sweet enough for you?

Sounds kinda creepy Darren... I guess it is kind of prophetic if you think of Kremps as the Buffalo. We all go easliy in her will... but you are strong... like an office building... hmmm Wink [;)]

Rick - Jay, just thought about it but the Typhoon (Hasegawa) I just closed has a bit of the same problem, not as bad as the one Rick listed but decent enough to take more work than the Tamiya ones I have been used to lately...

it's a consipiracy!!! Evil [}:)]

Rick, I'm with you on that bottom wing to fueslage join. I also read some other reviews of other hasegawa kits and they mentioned the same problem in the same location, I think It was their a6m2 kit and one other that for some reason escapes me. Are you going to post some progress pics of your hurricane?

I liked Tom Cruise in Risky Business & Top Gun. Other than those, Disapprove [V].

Finally got back to the Hurricane. Gave it another local shot of primer this morning. Still not thrilled with the lower wing to fuselage join, but I'm tired of fighting it so it's officially " Good Enough". Hope to spray the Sky this evening & make more rapid progress after that.

Oh well maybe Spielberg can turn it to something.

Not Spielberg as wellDead [xx(]

Why can't they just do it like the book in a Merchant Ivory style? Surely the juxtaposition of quaint Victorian values and notions of superiority against the other worldly technology of the Martians would be all the more stark and enthralling?

Steps down from soap box...............sits back down at desk.

Any way, managed to work out that the nav lights on the Hasa Hurricane are handed. Only sussed that after I'd drilled them, and painted the holes in red/green. Obviously I managed to get them the wrong way round!!!!Banged Head [banghead]

Holes re-drilled, and re-painted, the right way around this time.

A quick progress report on the Spit. Well I was happily decaling away when I suddenly realised that I haven't actually masked the canopy yet, Oops [oops] Oh well that gives me something to do tomorrow night.

Pingy, I was at the F1GP on Thursday and Friday through work and we had a ball. God I love corporate entertainment Cool [8D]

Tom here is what Babel Fish made of my little sentence. What does this translate back to English as?
hey los individuos van fáciles en la voluntad del búfalo de Brewter usted. Soy el edificio uno para el GB australiano

Rick, Tom Cruise huh, great Dead [xx(]. The only thing I ever saw him in that I liked was Collateral.

I'm not sure I can face another Hollywood remake of a classic book.

War of the Worlds has to be my all time favourite sci-fi novel, and the thought of Cruise's cheesy grin in the depths of Victorian Surrey just does not bare contemplation. Or is it going to be contemporary?

It'll be up there with Costner as Robin Hood!!!!!!!!!

Rant over............ I think!

Will check that out when I get home. Is this a remake of the movie set in the 50's or a movie made form the book set in the orginal 1880's?

cheers

Say it isnt so!!!!! :::going to poke eyes out with pencils to avoid even a glimpse of that movie::

Sorry... when I was on the USS Guam the CO loved that song "Danger Zone" from Top Gun.. he had it played through the PA night and day, all hours... I came to despise everything associated with that movie... I began plotting revenge against Tom Cruise.. I am over that now, but still can't see a movie with him in it..

---edit---

ok I saw that one with him and Nicole "Eyes wide shut" just for the ....ummm... anatomy lessons..... but that was it!! (honest)

Darren - was just thinking what babelfish might translate the Brewster Buffalo as... if not stating it plain English (which would be the appropriate "translation") maybe ... Drunk Large Cow??? or Drunk Hairy Cow???

either one of these describe Kremps to the "T" ... so I propose a Kremps GB starting in 2006.... only blimps, zeppelins, dirigibles, AA balloons, "Elefant" tanks, figures representing cows, bulls, elefants or other fat creatures (manatee come to mind), replenishment U-boats (Milkcows), NASA's "Pregnant Guppy jet, etc...... will be accepted hahahaha...

I am halfway tempted to see if we can rally up a Kremps build...

No build progress for me fellas. The reason is that I've been in Melbourne for the weekend for the Formula 1 GP. Got back yesterday and I might do some more work on my spitfire tonight, once my ears stop ringing that is Smile [:)].

let me look around some more Jay.. the ones from my Typhoon are also the thin ones... from my decal sheet they show the ones for the Martlet with the thick yellow stripe as 1941 time period... but thin ones for the BoB period... well let me know if you want them later... I have no prob mailing them! (might take a bit as Tanky and Jules can testify) Disapprove [V]

Hmmm, I love the hitchhikers books. Tehy're rather difficult to read sneakily though because I keep bursting out laughing.

Jay - this is a 1/48 scale craft? if so I have just what you need, as long it is the one with the thin yellow stripe around the roundel. I need the thick one for my NA Martlet

if it is the one you need send me your address via email... should have them out in a couple of days to ya...

Jay-I watched the PBS Masterpiece series (one and the same?) except for the last couple of episodes-recorded with the intent to watch (time period of getting married). Unfortunatly, never got around to it-still have the tapes-Sony BetaMax-just no tape player now!

This has nothing to do with this GB, but the Bable fish reference made me think of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, and given the number of Monty Python follower's in this build, I would highly recommend it for light reading. Movie is coming out this fall, but I'll be surprised if it does the books justice. Also started reading Piece of Cake, which is build related. Good reading.

Tom quit talking about mexican food , I'm getting hungry already and I just had breakfast Tongue [:P]Dinner [dinner](it's 8:28am here in Calgary). I love mexican food but even though I am a looooong way from the border, Calgary has a few really good mexican restaurants, the kind owned by immigrants, so you know it's real food.

On the modeling front, looks like I'lll have to take a break to finally finish some bathroom renos.Disapprove [V]
Tom and darson, any luck on the roundels, I could send you something in trade. I'll have to look later as I'm at work now.
Oh yeah, I used Gunze Silver. and I was thinking of doing the salt chipping too.Smile [:)]
